Hi 748s,
I went to MacCentric (the new AppleCentre) in Chatswood - they were really good. They convinved me to buy an iPod to add to my iMac that's how good they were hehe not that it took much convincing.
I'll be using iMovie I guess.
I've never done any video editing before, although I did play around with the iMovie tutorial. I don't even have a DV Camera - I just said I'd edit the footage and make a DVD of it to which the answer was phwoooa you can DO that? I said yeah, on my Mac :D
Yes it was cold in Sydney last night wasn't it! Winter hit! Much nicer today.
Derek.

Bummer deal with the insurance.
Go for a PB -- you can keep your portability and add firewire HDs for greater storage when you're at home. Of course, if you really can do without the portability (i.e., it won't drive you crazy to not be able to take the tech with you), then it probably makes better financial sense to get the iMac. Personally, I'd go totally nuts if I didn't have my PB ... it goes with me everywhere :)
Good luck with your decision.

Wowsers!! And with all this SP2 and Longhorn news, you'd think that MS would be winning....
I guess that it goes to show that if you have a great and easy to use site, you'll get lots of people coming to hang out!

Try buying TV series instead of illegally downloading them off the net.
Just a tad harsh there. We download and delete within 30 days just the same as is legal on any laptop. Maybe will just download to laptop :)

I'm working on a redesign (and refocus) of my website. It used to be a blog that sold handmade t-shirts and I'm switching it to a shirt store that has a blog attached.
Here are the two templates, one of the main page, and one of an individual shirt. I've used css a couple times before for layout, and am using it for this. I want this site to be written as efficiently as possible, keeping the design in mind. So any suggestions on how to do anything better would be appreciated. I know that I can use the same style sheet file for both, and plan too, I just haven't gotten around to it. I also plan to redo the header (which I did with photoshop and imageready) as explained in another thread.
Everything looks fine in Safari, Firefox (mac and pc), and Netscape, but I'm having trouble with IE for windows on the product page. The picture box is in the wrong position.

I tried to read the article, but couldn't come away with anything as mind blowing as the title. Perhaps it's that Finals-Week state of mind...
Can someone sum up in two lines what's so cool about this, and what the possibilities are? From what I read it sounded like they made a better PDF file...
Tyler Z.
I think this kind off document would be usefull in big companies. I used to work at a bank where I needed to delegate invoices. The invoice had a lifecycle of:
central incomming invoices => delegation to departments => send to proper financial directors => sign or deny invoices => possible 2nd sign => go to financial department => include in financial book => pay => archive invoice
I would imagine that if you can make a single electronic document that represents only the required data for each user, this process can be greatly optimized.

Apple also makes storage solutions.

Hi folks, I'm new here, and a novice, so please be gentle :)
I've forgotten the password for my email account and wondered if there is a way to find it or reset it. It's the Tiger version, given to me by someone who got the latest one, all bells and whistles, I believe. I'm a beginner with Mac, and have already slipped up, so look out for more from me. ;)

A reformat and redo of the JB may not be a bad idea. Try it, before you go with the turbo sim.

That looks good. I don't know how a3's work as far as when you start to get bonus points but with bigadv units you have to have 10 units finished with the passkey before you get any bonus points.
Same.

I find it less than entertaining. As a matter of fact, it seems pointless. I agree with Apple on this one.

Ahhh, the amusing thing is that its still used on corporate notepaper (at least if you look at the letter sent after the lost-iPhone-4 calamity - its right there in Apple Garamond).
The letter body text?? That's interesting indeed.

If it truly is an official carrier unlock, then you can't lose it.
Yes, it's the official unlock. I personally went through the process with the carrier's technical support to do the unlock. It took a couple of days where they send the IMEI to Apple and they whitelist it etc.
Thanks for your answer, that's all I needed to know!

<base href="SITENAME" /> = RELATIVE LINKS THAT WORK SITEWIDE
Wrote a simple howto to prevent having to rely on internal, sitewide absolute links. Only drawback is if you use subdomains and you want to preserve the subdomain path in the address bar. Really, really simple tip that saves alot of time in case need to preserve your relative links.

Have you tried using PDf Expert? I have a bunch of similar PDFs that I was struggling with until I downloaded that - worth a go.
