There appears to be approx 20 people in line right now.... I am gonna wait this out and come back after my con call...
The roads are fine, and likely not a deterrent... I have a slightly elevated level of concern about getting one today, but will have to let that go....

When I dragged the image to my desktop it didn't have a white background so not sure why it would have a white background for you.
Same here. Opens in photoshop with a transparent background already.
Was he just talking about fringe? If so, that can be taken care of with Layer -> Matting -> Defringe.
I didn't really see very much of a white fringe on the original, but there was one there.

Generally, going from any audio format to any lossless audio format definitely results in no degradation of audio quality or loss of any audio data. This is similar to compressing the audio data into a ZIP archive and then extracting it later. Depending on the format and the converter program, you might lose some metadata though, which you should keep in mind if that is important to you.
Encoding any audio source into a format that employs lossy data compression, even if the source is already lossy, will result in (further) data loss, although not necessarily a (perceptible) degradation of audio quality.
I feel like this can't be stated often enough. It's frustrating how often one runs across completely irrational posts on the web where people seriously argue the (audio quality) benefits of uncompressed LPCM audio data versus audio files compressed in a lossless format.

I would imagine Parallels would be up to the things you list. Much easier to use, and saves you having to restart your Mac.

What will you use it for? That determines is the high-end worth it for you. For basic tasks, it is not but if you do something CPU intensive, then it can be.

Hi there,
I recently reinstalled my Mac, but I forgot to backup and now I need a very important file that I deleted because I ereased the whole disk. Is there a way to get it back? I have no Time Machine backup, but it's really important.
If it is important you can get it off a backup. If there is no backup, it's not important. If your having trouble with your backup maybe we can help you.

I don't know much about AppleScript, but why escape from AppleScript into the shell just to enter AppleScript again.
Is the above not the equivalent of:
version of application "Application"
Would you look at that. You got it. And yea I knew the code I put didn't make any sense for some reason. Im pretty tired at this point...

Normal or am I just being a freak?
Normal.
And I've tried to calibrate like 3 times. Can you over calibrate?
You only need to calibrate once every month or two. Every time you do, you're using a cycle, so don't over-calibrate.
Read the Battery FAQ that simsaladimbamba posted. It really will answer all your battery questions.

You also need a passkey.

I'm having trouble from my home network with one website... just one!
www.weightwatchers.com will not load properly at home... it times out... consistently.
I took my macbook to the apple store, and the website worked without fail, but when I got home... fail. Just to verify this, I've taken my computer to several public networks and the site works fine as well. My work computer and my wife's work computer also consistently run the site without problem.
This problem has been going on for weeks, so i would be hard pressed to say that this is the host website's issue.
So perhaps it is my network at home. BTW, weightwatchers.com is the only site that does not run properly on my computer. Every other website i visit on my home network works fine.
I had thought that perhaps my wireless router (linksys wt160n) was having some type of issue and thought of replacing it with Airport extreem, but when I plug directly into the cable modem i get the same problem so I'm concerned that this wont fix the problem... only cause me to throw more $$ at the problem.
I've discussed the problem with my internet provider (charter communications), but everything looks fine from their end. I've considered increasing my internet connection speed from 16 megs to something higher, but I'm skeptical that this will really solve anything. I previously ran at 3 megs, and when the charter tech upgraded my connection speed to 16 megs... the website worked fine at home for a little while, then suddenly stopped.
I considered that this may just be a mac issue, but when i pulled out my windows xp machine, it had the same problems.

Can I use this drive to replace the one that just died in my PowerBook G4 1.67, 15" DLSD/HR Aluminum?
http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-2-5-Inch-Notebook-WD6400BEVT/dp/B002QAXZZY/ref=sr_1_3
Most of the replacement drives I see are 160Gb except for this one which is 640Gb and only a few dollars more. It sounds too good to be true so I want to be sure it will work in my PowerBook.
Thanks.
That PB model doesn't support SATA. You'll need to find an IDE Ultra DMA/100 (ATA-6). You should be able to find up to 250GB. Hope this helps.

Thanks robbie. Yep, I knew about the search feature, but that doesn't help if you don't know the exact spelling as the search engine appears to be limited in how it works.
If you know what the name begins with, the search feature will give you hints as you type:
283333

I'm also in the market for a new camcorder.
My budget is $1,000 before tax. I have been looking at the new Sony 560v, which is about 1,000 depending on the store. 5.1 and seems to have good low light ability with good golf and sport video. Which is what I film, so it sounds good on paper.
Looking for these other options:
1080p
Internal and external flash cards (if I need to add more cards).
Most important FCP use and iMovie would be nice for quick stuff.
Optional light adapter
Speed shooting, like I said good for sports, hockey and football also.
Good battery life.
I know I'm leaving out a few things...
Can anyone outside of consumer reports tell me if 5.1 on these priced cameras actually work well? In the past all my consumer cameras were simply 2 channel, always loved 5.1 from my laser disc days so it would be great if it actually worked well.
Thanks for any info.
