I love my new MacBook Air and I'm trying to squeeze every bit of battery life out of it as possible. As a result, I'm taking a different approach from my MacBook and not installing Flash on my MacBook Air. There is the occasional piece of content on the web that's Flash only, so I was wondering if instead of installing Flash altogether, can I simply use Google Chrome when I want to play such content? I've heard that Flash is built-in to Chrome, and I use Safari as my primary browser. This way I could keep my current workflow as it is, and simply launch Chrome whenever I want to play Flash content. Would that work?

I replaced the ATV2 on my Living Room TV with a 2009 mac mini to use Plex on that TV. The video quality looks alot better with the same video files with the ATV2 compared to the mini running out a display port to HDMI jack into HDMI on the set. Now some of it could be the playback quality of Plex itself, but is there anything I could do to get the output closer to the ATV? The mini is running at res 1080p out to an Onkyo Reciever the TX606 into the TV. The ATV was also going the same route.

Well, people can't even find the sticky thread at the top of this forum, so why would you need another one? :p

I've found several articles & posts all suggesting to not put any apps with badges "like email" (Which I'm assuming are the red markers) on the dock. But, I've been unable to find anything that explains "why/why not"
The suggestions have typically been in conjunction with installing the 5 icon dock tweak in cydia (which I have).
I'm assuming BiteSMS & Facebook would fall under the "apps with badges" category. What is the reasoning behind these suggestions? Does it interfere with push, etc?
Any help is appreciated.
I used Greenpois0n (RC5 b4) for the vzw iOS 4.2.6 to unlock this piece.
Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)
I have TCF Bank, which a quick google search will yield what complete ********* they are. I've had my share of problems with them over the years and have every intention of dumping them like a hot potato the minute I'm back in America.
For the last three years, I've wired money home for my student loan, etc. It's all I use the account for--no extraneous sloppy spending.
For the last month there has been a residual, positive balance from paying last month's bills. Haven't used the account since, everything's long been posted. It's pretty simple--send home money, when it posts, pay bills.
I sent home money a few days ago. It posted. I paid my bills online, and am waiting for them to post.
I logged on just now to check on them, and see that TCF has now decided to screw with the balance, so it will be $500+ negative once everything conveniently come in, and then they will hit me with NSF fees. Thinking what the hell is this, I looked back at the maximum history on my account (1 year), and now they show that as far back as that the account has had tons of times where it's been negative, which is not the case.
So they've screwed with the account balance, manipulating it so it's massively negative so they can screw me. Two days ago I had a positive balance with everything posted.
Has anyone else's acct. shown similar strange activity the last couple days? I dread calling them because they absolutely, positively, are NEVER wrong.

We already have outright handsets here in Australia...try buying one here (perhaps off eBay), but make sure it's unlocked (not locked to any network). Not 100% sure if an Australian iPhone would work in the States, though I can't see why it wouldn't.

This is why apple had to step up and start making their own applications. I have no doubt that apple is working on a spreadsheet app. Hopefully the package keynote, pages, (new spreadsheet app), and filemaker.
One thing that would be missing is a answer to entourage .... Maybe apple could combine mail, ical, addressbook into one app.
I can't see Apple releasing a File Maker alternative.

I came across a deal on a used Apple 8800GT, that came from a 2008 Mac Pro. The seller told me that to the best of his knowledge, this card is not useable by Windows. Is this true? I was looking at this card as an alternative to my GT120, to be used strictly for CUDA work.

That may mean that IBM is ready to start supporting early development of the PowerPPC 4 to replace the low end of the RS/6000 workstation lines.

I currently have an ipad 1 as a dev running 4.3 so I have the additional gestures. I love these features and want to keep them, but I think it's time to finally jailbreak my ipad; mainly for infinifolders. I've been jailbreaking iphones since the beginning, but have been relatively satisfied with a stock ipad seeing as I don't use it very often.
Question is, there's a new firmware (4.3.2) out there and I picked a good day to look as an untethered jailbreak was also released today. Will I lose the additional gestures if I upgrade/jailbreak?
thanks!

I don't know what ag(PET) stands for...so I wouldn't be able to answer your question.
If ag stands for Anti-Glare, then I'd suggest the iFrogz ones...pretty good IMO
I have no clue what PET would stand for...I'm thinking like a dog or a cat or something.

yeah, I agree, that's BS.....not every one wants the latest and greatest thing. There are some (me) that do, but the majority will buy what they "need" at the present time.
