Try rebooting into Safe Mode - turn your Mac on, as soon as you hear the chime, press and hold shift down until you see the Apple logo with the spinning wheel.
When your system boots, open up System Preferences and choose something other than 1280x1024 - like 1024x768. Restart your Mac mini as normal. This time it should boot at 1024x768 on your monitor. Once your Mini has booted, open System Preferences again and change your resolution to 1280x1024.
Hope this helps

Good question, I assume they must set out to achieve a target average volume. As for who defines the volume, I can't tell you. I'd guess there's probably an "industry" standard for TV, however since DVDs and CDs vary in volume quite a lot, I highly doubt there's such a thing for them.
This is just pure speculation, makes sense to me anyway.

Its an app called IntelliScreen and it allows you to glimpse at your critical data on your iPhone "Slide to Unlock" screen.

Hi everyone
I wanted to install windows on my mac to be able to play windows based games, but it turned out to be the biggest mistake iwe made in a while. At first the setup installed as supposed, but then it rebooted and took me to the setup again. I tried to install again, it installed, rebooted and took me back to the blue XP setup screen again. Same thing happens when i try to quit the setup, repair the installation and everything else. My mac is now stuck, i cant even get the Windows installer CD out. At this point i just want to exit the windows installer and get my OS back, i dont want to continue installing, can someone help me please? Im getting rather desperate.

I use the built in Mac screen sharing utility to remotely log in and share my wife's desktop and my server. Works like a charm and was simple to set up.

Any way to save the shsh while stuck in this loop? Tiny tries but fails.
Does TinyUmbrella actually see your iPad? Or does TinyUmbrella fail to see it? If it fails to actually see the iPad then you have a chance that the original owner might have saved the SHSH blobs, if they were not saved then you are out of luck. Because you chose to erase/reset your only option now is to upgrade to 4.3.1. You can use Sn0wBreeze 2.4b1 to jailbreak 4.3.1, it is however a tether jailbreak...

I remember getting sent 'Simons piecharts' at work last year, and had to sit there trying to hide my belly laughs! Hilarious :D

Get the white one.
You will easily be able to set up an Austrian account using fake info and getting PSN cards for that country. However, if you're just going to set up the one account, may I suggest an American one as the US PSN Store has a much greater choice of PSP and PSone games. You'll just need to find some kind soul who can purchase US PSN cards on your behalf and email you the codes.
:apple:
Edit: Just remembered that the 10 free games thing is Europe only. I think you only get 3 free games with a US account. Bugger.

i know i am going out really far on this one...but my friend says she has a friend that works at the local apple store who hooked her up when she bought her 15" powerbook a few months ago. she couldn't give me any specifics, but i want to see her reciept to see what kind of discount she got. however, i probably won't get to see it for a few more days.
i am wondering if anyone knows anything about the apple employee discounts? from my research, any apple employee can receive 1 25% discount, and 3 15% discounts during a 1 year time period.
my big question is...can these be combined with education discounts?
thx!
Short answer: NO

Forget ARM. It's all about nuclear fusion-powered quasi-organic 'thinking' CPUs. Should be here in about fifty years...

Probably not going to line up unless I have to. I'm a current Verizon user. I should be able to pre-order on the 3rd. Do you have to pick up the iPhone from the Apple store or what? How does that work? Maybe hit Total Wine on the if I do!

Owning a Mac Pro 1,1 I have found it just as usable on Lion as it is on Snow Leopard (It is still a beta at the end of the day so of course there are going to be bugs).
I would say its pretty safe in support, the only reason Apple are removing support of the older generation is due to the 1st gen Core chips using 32bit architecture. The Mac Pro used a Xeon which shared traits with the Core 2 Duo, hence it is actually a 64 bit chip.
How does it run snow leopard? Is it fairly smooth and usable? I'm just concerned about CPU. I'll be upgrading the HDD's, Ram and GPU.

I have both and both are great but for completely different uses.
The iPad can make some remarkable art in the hands of someone talented, but its something that would probably not be the choice for most professional use.
The wacom is most likely what you are looking for and you will probably want the inking pen if you are doing tracing. I have the bluetooth wacom (its the third wacom I've owned) and I love it. I've been using wacoms for years. They detect tilt, pressure, and with the right pen, barrel rotation. They do take some time to get used to though. Most people hate their wacom for the first few weeks then love it.
Honestly I like using both and would recommend both if its in your budget. If portability is key give the iPad a try you can return it if it doesn't fit your needs. If portability isn't important, grab a wacom tablet.

Didn't want to open up another thread so I'll just ask it here.
In what instances CAN I lose the carrier unlock? Restoring it maybe?
With an officially unlocked iPhone you can never lose the unlock ever.

I agree. I just made the switch from the PC world to a Dual CPU G5 w/ 1.5 Gig..
Man o man, what an AWESOME machine!
I was using the PC for video editing and got sick and tired of the crashes, slow response, etc that I continuously got with XP. When it worked, it worked, but there was a ton of headaches too.
I'm computer literate, however I had never used a MAC before, and within a few hours, I'm zipping around the OS and getting the feel for Final Cut.
I can't believe how much easier and more reliable this system is...
I should have jumped of the PC ship much sooner... I'm hooked!
Cheers!

Operating a PC I felt like I had one hand tied behind my back trawling through the system trying to keep a handle on everything. Within a couple of months of owning a Mac I understand where all my files are, how to manage modify and play with them.
On a PC I was never quite sure when those "Shut down now" boxes would appear. The worst that happens with the mac is that I have to click a button to Force Quit an application with no apparent side effects on the system. And according to my crash log, since replacing a defective RAM chip and partitioning, there has never been a blip on my daily 10.2.4 partition, and the glitches on a highly abused "betas partition" has never forced me to restart the system in order to keep working.
Thanks to the stability and the unerring intuitive ability of the Mac and Jaguar, I am able to do all manner of tasks and multi media projects with no previous knowledge of this set up.
Plus, having paid a premium for the Powerbook and taken a lot of flak from PC owners about the price and the limitations of the Mac - no software blah blah blah - I have spent just 60 extra on Appleworks and not had to pay a penny more for a single byte of the extra software and utilities that reside on my betas partition. (It's all there on the internet, and the interfaces are all alike with not a trace of garish Windows style candy.)
And having bought into the Apple community, if I have a problem, it does not matter that I am the only PB owner in this town. Solutions are all on the internet in forums like this. Likewise it is irrelevant that none of the shops know anything about Macintosh. It is all available on the internet and through the post.
So, goodbye PC and Windows. Even if XP is like nothing that has gone before, I am happy with the product and the philosophy of the minority Mac. I have a feeling that this Powerbook really is a long term investment, another concept that does not equate with a PC.

A "single, two-way surround speaker"?
Single speaker and "surround sound" are mutually exclusive terms.
"Audio lens technology" apparantly means that the "woofer" fires at the floor, the tweeter fires upward and the sound is directed 360 degrees by a curved reflector.
That means there will be absolutely no stereo imaging - the thing is designed to scatter the sound around indiscriminantly - hence "surround" in marketing-speak I guess.
"no AC cord" - no, instead it has an audio cord and a USB cord for power. 2 cords = 2 cords...
The woofer must be all of 2 inches in diameter. Bass response in any speaker depends on the size of the driver (the speaker) x the effective size of the enclosure x the power delivered to the driver x the efficiency of the driver.
What will it sound like? Well, it will be weak, because it can draw a maximum of 500 mA current from the USB, it will mono with no stereo image at all, it will have little or no bass compared with a subwoofer (small driver, low power, tiny cabinet size), but it will have a clever orange power light.
