This could be very cool if it works. Just slap one of these between your processor and heat sink and get 30% more battery life. Or on desktops force cool your system without liquid.

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I want to buy this!!!! But alas I cannot afford it at present, well it depends on if I get a 3DS next weekend or not. But having used the demo of Outlook I love it, much better then Mail IMO.

I get your suggestioin about a focal point. That brings up some interesting questions about how to light it. It would have to be very deliberate so as not to spill into the red and blue. As it was I ran around in the dark with a flashlight to light the scene. The total exposure time was 66.7 seconds. :) Perhaps even a faint image of somebody sitting in the foreground. Maybe even a ghostly figure -- only in the frame temporarily so that the cabin bleeds through.
I love this kind of thinking! You obviously have a creative mind, so go for it! I frequently return to the same sites to try out new ideas; it can be an extremely rewarding way to shoot because you eventually become a master of that location and know exactly what you want to do there. So yeah, let your imagination run wild and go back to try out something fun.
I do a lot of this kind of shooting (gelled strobes, dilapidated structures, low light), and I know all too well how challenging it is to get the balance right between the artificial and ambient light. You said you now have some more strobes and triggers, and that will free you up a lot to do shorter exposures, which will help you to incorporate more ambient light and get more detail into the shadows.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with next. :)

I measured with a caliper, it's 0.373 on my white iPhone 4. Definitely thicker than the black one.

I do find it funny that Microsoft continues to make the comparison via specs alone, when design is a huge factor too, especially when it comes to notebooks.
I can't say I've used every Windows notebook out there, but I've come across several that had absolutely loathsome designs. My MBP was out of comission for a week once and I borrowed my sister's HP laptop. Specwise they were probably about the same, but the trackpad on the HP was one of the worst things I had ever used. The laptop was also thicker and heavier than my MBP, and the screen hinge was a lot stiffer, meaning that it took a bit more effort to open it up when it wanted to use it.
If you compare pure specs, Apple does come off as more expensive. But the design I'm paying for is definitely worth the difference.

Apple is really disgusting me with this $#*(%&*( behavior. They really need to completely reevaluate their criteria and make it CRYSTAL EFFING CLEAR what IS and was IS NOT acceptable and then stand by it. None of this 'reject Google Voice because it duplicates functionality' and then 'approve the Opera web browser'. Reject an APP because it 'ridicules public figures' and then plead that the author to resubmit it once he's awarded a Pulitzer...

Admittedly, it was a bit off topic, but considering the big picture on taxes and spending and how bad things could have gotten involves national politics, I didn't think it was so far off to derail the thread.

We wouldn't use them for killing. Quite the contrary. As an Intelligence Analyst I can say that I would love to have a Mac based system for all of our mapping/communication/networking needs. We wouldn't even need a "tough book" like computer, since most of my work is done out of a tent or a building. A rubber casing or strip could easily seal the ports. I have been wanting to incorporate my MBP into my work more and more.
+1 for mapping. When I worked at a Joint Reserve Intelligence Center (JRIC) the intel guys that deal with imagery (sorry I don't know the term) used Macs with 30 inch ACD's.

My Macpro is shipping tomorrow, I wonder if they will do the update since it's still technically in their hands.
Speaking of which, the build times are much faster! I ordered my Macpro with X1900, 2 gigs of ram, Bluetooth/Airport and 160 drive last Saturday. They placed a hold on my order until Tuesday while verifying my educational status, then sent me a notice the next day (Wednesday) telling me that my order is being processed. My Macpro is scheduled to ship tomorrow and my new 23" ACD is on the truck for delivery today. If everything goes well, I might have a new system for the weekend. That's pretty damn fast for a BTO!

I have read that you should find a type of photography that you're good at and stick with it rather than try to be a jack of all trades type. Trying to do sports, weddings and landscape all at once may not be the best idea, for example. They all require different equipment and style of photography. Now, I am barely out of the novice stage (about 7 months into taking photography seriously) so I am hardly able to give expert advice. I haven't figured out what kind of photography I am best at or like doing most. I have noticed I feel a bit intimidated by portrait type photography. I don't have the right equipment for it (flashes, strobes, backdrops, studio...), and I'm not sure I want to go that route. I also don't care for sports in general, so that's not a likely path for me, either.
At least I mostly haven't suffered from the things you listed above. I kind of did buy an expensive camera to take "better" pictures, but then my P&S was pretty limiting in the kind of pictures I could take with it. It didn't do well with the kind of pictures I wanted to take. I recognize I got it to make the technical aspects better and for the versatility of different lenses. I know it doesn't mean what I take pictures of will necessarily be better.
I think I'm sucking less than when I started my 365 project. People tell me they like my pictures, so I must be doing something right at least sometimes. This means I'm achieving my goal for my project, which was to be more interested and better at photography. I can't even look at the pictures I took prior to starting it. :) I moved them all off to iPhoto and use Aperture for everything since.
If anyone wants to comment on how I'm doing so far, and they're bored enough to go through it all, my project set on flickr is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22077805@N07/sets/72157624631747093/

OK I've redone the guides category. So I've finally finished this :).
There are four articles remaining in Old Categories (http://guides.macrumors.com/Category:Old_Categories) all of which frankly should be deleted.

http://guides.macrumors.com/I�C is only tangentally related to the sudden motion sensor, but still should go.
and the final article is on Vista Beta 2, which I have already whined about asked to be deleted.
The categories that are subcategories of Old Categories are all now empty and can also be deleted.

The iPhone 4 sported twice the RAM of the iPad. Perhaps the iPhone 5 also sports more RAM than the iPad 2.
In fact, maybe that's part of the reason for the push to September. To put more distance between the iPad and the iPhone so that iPad owners don't feel like their product is playing second fiddle to the iPhone (which it is).
