Thanks SmartBoy. I agree, I should have looked around. My I-140 is approved so I assume I shouldn't have any problem. Thanks again.

sure seems like it. As with L2 visa holders, this would allow H4 spuses to apply for work permit.

what are your plans for I-485 filing? are you going to interfile your existing EB3 485 application with EB2 I140 or file a new 485 application for EB2? what is your lawyer recommending?
Our lawyer requested as a interfile while filing the new I-140. EB2 dates were current at the time of filing I-140 so that was possible. Otherwise we have to send in a copy of the new I-140 to join the I-485 when one's PD is current. I am waiting for copy of the I-140 to follow up on I-485 with SR and Infopass.
I am using the existing I-485 to avoid confusion and delay. That is what is being recommended by USCIS in many AILA meetings that I am aware of.

Guys,
http://shusterman.com/cgi-bin/ex-link.pl?www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/UpdateDirectFiling062107.pdf
As per the Direct filing update on 21st June you can file your 485 at any center regardless of your place of employment or residence or 140 approval.
So dont worry, your case will be appropriately transferred to the correct service center.
Let us concentrate more on the DC rally.

My apologies if everyone is sick of looking at my flower images. This bloom is from what we call spider plants. They're a unique very open bloom with just a few petals and long stamens/anthers. Separating out one bloom and getting enough DOF proved very difficult to impossible. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Hi ,
Here is the scenario:
-- My AP expires in Dec'08 ( Applied for extension and waiting..)
-- H1 in Apr'09.
If I go to India say in Nov'08 and come back to US before the AP expiry using AP document (without going for H1 stamping as my visit is very short). What would be the I-94 expiry date ? Would it be Same as AP expiry (Dec'08) ?
Assuming I haven't received my new AP even in Dec'08, will I be out of status once my AP is expired ?
Please advice.
- Thanks

Wow! Great response for a small web forum. Thanks so much for comments and especially the adjustments.
I can see right away that I will be learning a lot of PhotoShop here. That's great! I can obviously learn a great deal about photography from the DSLR forums, but the Members Critique and the Galleries is what I registered for.
I got my cameras to take pictures of friends and family and to use at work. Most of the pictures I take look like a family driver's license photo album. The picture is bad and the subject is worse. I want to learn to capture the unique events because that is where the beauty is.
First I want to learn to take more pictures. I never seem to have the urge, opportunity and camera all in the same place at the same time. Is it as simple as always having my camera at the ready? How do you get people to accept your taking a picture of them without disturbing the event?
I also would like to learn what to take pictures of. I am obviously limited by the capabilities of my Cybershot and circular polarizer. What kinds of photographs, subjects and conditions should I concentrate on so that I can take pictures I will be pleased with?
Then I would like to learn to take pictures of the things that I see and think are interesting. Since I live in Houston that means cityscapes, nature and weather, and interesting people. I especially like people engaged in ordinary activity but with profound contrast of background or setting. Given a limitation of what can be carried on a bicycle or foot (and a reasonable budget,) what kind of camera and accessories would a professional photographer use to take these kinds of pictures?

As long as you are still doing S/W related job, don't worry about VB , C# or Java etc ...I myself used AC21 rule to change the job and got GC in September.. I know a lot of ppl got GC after using AC21. Most of the ppl, I know (including me) did not inform USCIS about AC21. Ron Gotcher was my attorney and according to him, sending AC21 documents might complicate the case. Also, he informed me that AC21 rule is practiced in a very liberal way by the USCIS ... so don't worry ...
Thank you very much. Other than giving the letter with salary, job description and showing that it is a full time position, what support do we need from the new employer?

A# is either someting that you get by the following ways:
1. If you were a student and were on OPT the EAD card had an A#
2. Sometimes when your I-140 is approved it comes with A# (NOT ALWAYS NO ONE KNOWS WHY/WHY NOT)
3. When your I-485 is accepted most likely you will get a new A#
So if you have 1 or 2 use it else leave it blank.
Thank you for the clarifications. One more doubt:
G-325A has got got file no. which starts with A and Alien Registration no in the bottom. Should we have to fill A# against file no. in top with our A# got with I-140 approval?

FAQ #2 - clarified that forms with Y designation means that prior version of the form will not be rejected.
Q29: The version date on the new I-485 form is 7/30/07 and it has an "N" designation after it, meaning that the I-485 applications arriving at the service center on or after July 30, 2007 must use the new I-485 form or it will be rejected at the mailroom. Is this really true?
A29. No, the N designation on the new version was inadvertently uploaded to the USCIS website and has since been removed. The new and corrected I-485 application form that will be uploaded will have the Y designation which means that prior version of the form will not be rejected.
Uff this gives me some relief. My attorney has sent my 485 documents on 07/27 and reached NE on 07/30. I'm sure she must have used the old version.

Dear hk196712:
This means your application for political asylum will be rejected, because you are a minority woman from Iraq, you filed in EB7 category, your priority date is 2012 and you sent your application in 1956 to Tel Aviv instead of Nebraska. Thus your job as a victoria secret model wearing burkha is in danger, you should apply for Z visa.
Hope this turns on a bulb in your head.
Thanks

shreekhand, I think peshwa's comments are about right, its human psychology, the slaves organized and demanded their rights, but it took a long time to get that , but they were some among the slaves who did feel that they were going to get freedom from their masters if they really worked hard, do you think they would have gotten freedom if they had did just that ?

Best part will be
- Convert into F1 just before 6 month or 1 year before she completes her study. U must pay for international fees ( if approval comes after semesteir start then for that semester u will pay in-state fee)
- It will enable her to pursue opt and make a way for converting to H1B
For OPT
- at the time of filing she must be in F1
- She should have full time student for 1 year ( not necessarily F1 for 1 year)
I did the same thing for my wife.

Yes, it won't be a rejection or a denial either...just a simple RFE. Since both the names on the marriage certificate are different from the applicant (you) and the beneficiary (your wife), USCIS should be able to deduce that it's a mistake.
Thanks,
Jayant
