Really, if you don't know how to "jailbrake" at all then I recommend getting someone you to know to help you out maybe? Actually performing the jailbreak is the simple bit.
Using and managing Cydia, along with any tweaks, is the part that most non-jailbreakers get confused with.
I've jailbroken several people's iPhones, iPods, and iPads and even now I still get them asking about things.

About overheating, not an issue. Hard drives are like 30-40c. Won't overheat the card. And the card will probably raise the hard drive temps maximum 5-8 degrees.
However, both cards really suck. Get a single 5770 to replace them both. It will run all your displays and the performance will be night and day.

Seriously, does anyone know how to use an email address that is not a mac.com address as the reply-to in .mac webmal?
I only use the webmail at work, and at home Mac OS X Mail lets me use my "real" email address as the reply-to. I would love to know how to do it in webmail. An earlier poster said you can, but I just can't see how.

How can you discuss tax rates and NOT acknowledge that the rates we have today are the rates that include the Bush tax cuts? How can you discuss deficits and spending when there were surplusses when Clinton left office and he had higher tax rates and spending than Bush? If you ignore history, you are doomed to repeat it. Right?
It isn't a matter of spite, it's merely a matter of looking at what works and what doesn't, and cutting taxes does not, in and of itself work. Reasonable spending that targets necessary services, along with reasonably higher tax rates, has worked in the past. The current political climate has us arguing about cutting spending and cutting services and cutting taxes. It's bizarroland. We are undoing decades of progress so that we can push an economic model that has never worked in the past.
It's not Republican vs. Democrat, it's what hasn't worked vs. what has worked. The only reason to continually repeat who is responsible or who is pushing a proposal is to make certain that people don't fall for the economic conservative language being used by the people who are anything but being conservative.
That's all neat; it's got a beat and you can dance to it. But you were, by your choice, responding to itcheroni, and his/her quoted points had nothing to do with your ongoing diatribe against all things even tacitly related to Republicans.

I bought a Verizon iPad because I have an AT&T iPhone. I figured that if one doesn't work, the other will. I saw no need to get two devices on the same network.

Could be they made many more Verizon models. Could also be that ATT models are being bought for resale overseas. Nothing wrong with that, which is what the OP was implying, I think. Could also be a combination of the two, of course.
Thankfully, there's no moral, ethical, or legal responsibility saying what you should do with your legally obtained, publicly available tech item. You can use it, blend it, sell it to your neighbor, use it as a frisbee, or even carry it on a plane and once you land, you can do all those same things EVEN if your plane landed near a bunch of Asians instead of near a bunch of white people. Crazy, huh?

I have read numerous threads concerning this issue but seems like they are related to jailbreaking? I have not done this. Ihad purchased a number of apps and had not yet backed up on my itunes- therefore do not want to have to restore.

Just having beat Portal 2 on my 11" MBA with a 1.6ghz core 2 duo and the 320m, playing it on max settings, native resolution at ~40fps was GREAT.
This isn't possible on the Intel graphics, it'd tip just below smoothly playable at these settings. The CPU is barely a bottleneck, seriously. What other 11" device can run a modern game maxed out?! Thank god for the Source engine, and for Apple's 320M+C2D choice.

I have a Treo and I love the keyboard but I have a hard time believing that a keyboard on an Apple branded phone would look good. I have yet to see any PDA phone that looked good with a keyboard. It just looks clunky. Maybe Apple can do it right. But all those chicklet sized buttons just look like a crazed Bedazzler-wielding mom attacted an innocent cell phone. :eek:

I've personally witnessed the rather dramatic decline in Apple quality control over the last year.
It's unlike ever before and very discouraging.
Give me a break... I've heard this claim over and over and over and over for more years than I care to admit. It's as if there was once upon a time Apple released perfect products without any glitches whatsoever, but now everything they release is plagued with problems.
It's a fact... nearly every product line Apple has ever released has had its hiccups, whether it's overheating computers, faulty logic boards, problems with displays, adhesives etc etc.
You haven't witnessed any sort of dramatic decline in Apple's QC... you just like to believe that you have.

Exactly, whats silly is the "ALL are thicker" or "NONE are thicker" garbage. It's clearly a QA issue Apple is having with the phones...which I think is sad given the time it took for them to release. :(
Yep. Probably an accidental run of back plates made with slightly thicker than spec glass. The difference in thickness is not significant enough that someone is going to notice during the assembly or packaging process, so it wouldn't necessarily have been caught until after shipment.
(I say back plates, because all the side-by-side comparisons have the metal band appearing at the same place in the photos, with only the back to account for the difference in thickness.)

Is it possible that 4.2.6 and 4.3 have different DST settings? Sure. Unlikely? You bet. Odds are we're seeing an issue with carriers and it localized in spots.
