Hi All,
I have got fingerprint notice and appointment is after 3 weeks in Charlotte NC. I will not be available on that day and do not want to postpone the appointment.
I would like to prepone the appointment and I tried to find Charlotte USCIS local phone number but could not find anywhere. The only number is general 800 number and that was of no use.
Does anyone have any experience with Charlotte office? Can I just go there and will they do fingerprint any day before actual appointment? Charlotte is around 4 hours drive. It will be painful to drive there and find that they don't do fingerprint before appointment day. What day is normally good if I want to take the chance? Have anyone actually called them and prepone the appointment? What is the local office phone number?
These are two many questions. But all are related. Sorry for being so long and thanks in advance for your response...

Notice of Action that you received tells you things to be done in case you want to change your biometric appointment. Though I am not sure but vaguely remember you have to contact USCIS directly if you want the change. Hope this helps

From the information that you have provided, I can tell you that their argument does not hold any water. The same can be said of H1B as well. If they are tracking expiration of H1B, they certainly can do the same for EAD.

2) If such an employee that has not renewed their EAD and continued their employment beyond expiration without notifying the employer, the company is worried that they may be legally liable for harboring employees with illegal statuses.
Please help me understand if their concerns are valid and if not what is the remedy.

Now that most of the cases that have LUD on their I-140 got or getting approvals, I want to track how many of you guys have an LUD on 07/13/2008. If you have any other LUD on your I-140, please post them.

I have filed for 140/485 EB3 on July 2nd. I am planning to start a EB2 process and carry over the EB3 Priority date to the new application. I have a few questions
1. My thinking is the process works something like this. I start a new PERM for EB2 while my EB3 140 is pending. After both the EB3 I140 and EB2 PERM are approved, I file for EB2 140 putting in a request to carry my old PD over. Is this correct?
2. Do I need to be with my GC sponsoring company until both EB3 140 and EB2 PERM are approved? If I use AC21 (after EB3 140 approval), will I still be able to interfile?

You cant use to port date after using AC21 ,your job responsiblities need to be same or of smiliar nature so u cant interfile as EB2 job responsiblities will differ. Porting of dates always carries risks more checks more documentations.

My lawyers asked me to use the OPT number on all my forms where it asked for A# number of FileNumber ... I did not have a A# number on my I140

Bluez if dates move back then they will take effect from Sept 01 and you are already attending interview in Aug. Now as per law there no other bulletin can be issued for Aug again. If you rememebr same thing happend last year in July and then second bulletin had to be withdrawn. So don't worry have fun and enjoy.

I am not a legal expert.

They might not necessarily ask you, but its always safe to have the below documents.
In our case, they asked us once and the other time, they did not care.
1. Copies of Passport of both the parents (page with picture and name details)
2. A letter authorizing your in-laws to accompany your daughter.
Get it notarized if you can. If not, send the signed copies.
If you need a format for the letter(nothing fancy, was drafted by myself), let me know, I can dig out the one I used.

Hey guys, I received this notice in the mail from USCIS asking me to appear for "Initial" interview for further processing of my I485. Can someone please throw some light on what that might involve?
My PD is 09/04, June 07 Filer and had an RFE back in Septmeber.

Sorry, unfortunately H1B is biased towards skilled labor. Your major unfortunately does not fall in that category as such. When I say skilled, I'm talking about the sciences, finance, law etc.
Your goal is noble but unfortunately there is no place for you as an employee in the United States on a work visa. You can always try to get married to a US citizen . Much easier path :)

The vermont service center says 2 months for h1b extensions, mine has been pending for 75 days, so i called the uscis today and guess what they told me, the processing times have been updated on teh web site but it is very difficult for us to follow them, i would suggest you wait for 90 days and see if there is any change in your online status if not call me back.
Then why do these people keep updating monthly processing dates if they cannot stick to their words.
I believe the processing times are just a gimmick to show progress to press....:mad:
Guess what, CIS @ NSC, TSC looks like never want to cross even the processing dates beyond July 2007. I will be not surprised if they do not cross July 2007 for another year.

There is nothing wrong in asking but the attorney has no right to reveal the information to you although some do. Did you try to make that request through your employer?
I think some members requested a copy of 140 approval notice from USCIS by filing a freedom of information request. Not sure how though.

I agree that the DC rally is a critical event but I think I am loosing interest in this online forum. I guess the forum moderators may be busy with organizing the DC event.
