My experience at IAD was same as explained above (June/06/2010) . .

I entered in AOS - EB3 - India.

During secondary session, I was asked lot of questions regarding my existing employer / earlier employer, also there were questions which were related to my 2006 employer too and tax filings of 2006 year too.

Overall with complete patience, managed to come into the country with approval after 4 hours.

if you have copy of I-140 , it contains 13 digit receipt number (SRC, WAC etc..).

Enter the number in USCIS case status to find out the latest update on the I-140 file @ https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

Hello immi2006,

Were your collegues EB-2 classification with old PDs from the DoL's backlog centres?

I see some of the EB-2 indian nationals with old PDs received approvals so that USCIS can process their I-485.

If you are EB-3 then you might want to wait until Dec 2007.

I used my 485 EAD, which I received when I filed my 485 with my spouse. And now I want my employer to apply H-1B for me. I am wondering if I can apply change of status to H-1B within US or I have to apply H-1B petition, which requires me to get out of US and get the visa at some US consulate or embassy.

I'd really appreciate any info.

I am not sure I understand why would you want to do this? You are on EAD, correct? This already gives you the right to work for any employer; getting an H-1B would be a step back in this regard. Am I missing something?

I had applied for my I-140 to seek an extension from Oct-09 to OCT-10..Instead I recieved an I-140 with expiry date of Oct-09 itself..what to do now..I know its a genuine mistake..but not sure how to get that addressed..:confused:

Apologies if I should have looked this up somewhere within IV .
Guess it is a simple question.

What does a soft LUD mean ? I have often read that term on the forum.

I at times see that something was updated on my case..."last updated date" but then there is no status update.....for example this happened on my I131 application on Feb 4, 2009

On the I485 I think it is just that they transferred it from one office to another as the status says.

Donate 1 million dollars to USCIS, they will come to your house to handover the card. I believe that is the only way you can expedite, as for as I know.

LOL, If s/he has or had or saved $1m then might not have been a "Bpositive" handle on IV and his/her handle elsewhere may read as iwasintheus, packandgo:D

My I-485 is current as per Aug bulletin (dec 2004 eb2). Any suggestions on how to make sure the application is processed by IO? Anyone with prior experiences/success doing this?

Hi,

My wife came to US on H4 and changed to F1 status thru COS. She is doing Masters 2nd semester and went for F1 visa stamping this week in India. She got 221(g) pink slip asking explain her projects, plans afer study etc. Visa officier withheld her passport and I20.
BTW the way I am on H1B and provided all the financial support documents.
I searched the online didnt any F1 getting 221(g) pink.

1)If anyone else got this for F1 please share your experiences and any tips.

2)How long it takes after repsonding to thier queries

3)what are the chances getting visa after getting 221(g) pink

4) Do you suggest getting any professional in drafting the reponse to te queries.. if so do you know any one in Hyderabad, India

Submit what the IO requested. With F1, the usual problem is proving no intent for immigration.

i am in same situation. i applied for employment base in Dec 2004 and family based in May 2006 through my sister. Rightnow i'm on EAD and my sister based F4 category have priority Dec 2001.


You can apply in both category. when i was filing 485 (EB3), there is question if any other 485 petition is pending? The answer is "NO" even i have applied (I-130) under Family based GC. My lawyer said filing I-130 (for family based GC) is not consider as another petition (485) for GC. So it is ok to apply in both.
