I've not been into these conferences before now (I saw the keynote from Steve Jobs a) when the new iMacs were anounced, and b) when the new ipods/iphone were anounced) and since then, I've had a huge excitement...plus the fact, I'm in the market for a MBP and an iMac :D

So I searched the forums and couldn't find any concrete information on this, but what are the rumors for iOS 5? Will it be compatible with the iPhone 4, and is it coming out in June at the conference? What has everyone heard?

Samsung gives 3 years even for OEM.I have never used a Samsung drive, nor do I know anybody who has. Do they actually make their own? Or do they get drives relabeled from another company?

It's not an unreasonable suggestion. The need for an iOS subforum depends in part on the quantity of IOS-themed threads we routinely have, other than those in the News forums and the programming forums. Can you point out more than a few currently active threads that fall into this category? I haven't spotted many.

They are everywhere in my opinion. Many people are talking about the iOS software, features, release date, etc. and if I wanted to start a thread I'm not sure I'd know which forum to start it in, iPhone or iPad, likewise, within that main forum or in the tricks, troubleshooting subs.

Just to show some of the recent ones. I think it will be even more helpful when it is released and in the future now that the iOS is consolidated on all devices to discuss announced new features coming or those found in betas.
While some of these threads are obviously posted by someone in regard to a specific device, that doesn't mean the discussion isn't broad enough for all. That's simply my point. We talk about OS X but leave iOS discussion to each device forum. Should I go to iMac or MacBook to talk about OS X because that's what I'm running it on. Like I said, I just thought it was time.

They look great all lit up. I've tried to draw the Apple logo in the past and I find it hard, never mind to actually carve it into something (it could be just my crappy drawing though :D).

No problem it's a forum after all I just think everyone needs to use the search feature a bit more instead of having loads of posts saying the same thing. My question for discussion would be: 1) would you consider buying a used LCD monitor off of ebay? 2) What new 19" LCD would you recommend in the $450 price range?
I've heard good reviews about the Dell 1905FP 19", which is going for around ~$300 on eBay. When I click the search box in IE6, the submit button does highlight, but I can still type in the text field.

Planning on ordering a new 2011 iMac with a 256GB SSD and 2TB drive.
Current 2010 iMac hard drive has one drive with about 375GB.
In previous migrations - it was as simple as booting the source Mac with the "T" and allowing the transfer via Firewire.
The full image will not fit on the 256GB SSD. I know I can manually move user files to an external drive and reduce the image for a full copy and then move that data to the HD on the new iMac.
Any better suggestions?

You can put them anywhere you want them. There might be some dlls that'll end up somewhere in the Windows directory, but the bulk, if not all, of the app will reside where you put it.
My current MBP config has Win7 system on a partition on my drive bay drive and the games on another partition on my optibay drive.
You can also use Paragon NTFS to be able to read/write the Windows drives.

I'm a happy man this year. I have always wanted to watch the keynote without knowing anything about what has been released but could never resist (last year I was away from any sort of computer and then I open the newspaper and boom....the iPhone. I wasn't expecting anything because I live in Australia) but this year.....it will be 4 am when Steve takes the stage. So I'll happily wake up at around 9 am (I'm on holidays) and just watch the keynote with a glass of OJ. IT'LL BE AWESOME!!!!!

I bought two of these, one for me, one for my wife. In a random fashion, either the left ear or the right ear will "go deaf". Occasionally both ears will "go deaf". My wife's jack is so loose that it simply separates from the nano with the slightest movement! I get the same problems when I use my Bose earphones. The reason seems to be that the audio jack ports on this product have been manufactured without adequate attention to quality control. Short of returning the nanos, can you think of a solution?

To use iFile to install a deb, here is how I do it:
Download the .deb to your computer.
Open iFile on your ipod, and click on the WiFi logo on the bottom.
A page of text will display, with a url at the end, something like "http://192.168.xxx.xxx:10000".
Enter the url into the browser on your computer.
A root directory of your ipod will appear in the browser, with an upload box.
Use the upload box to put the .deb somewhere on your ipod, like in /tmp.
In iFile, tap Done and browse to the .deb, and tap it, then tap Installer in the menu. It should then install.
Download the .deb to your computer.

Ironically rush hour's the safest part of the day. Bit difficult to get thrown across the carriage when you're wedged into someone's armpit :D

Hmm, I have noticed that printers are really quite musical...The music is often frustrating because the more of it there is, the longer you have to wait.

Thanks guys. I'm not trying to compose intricate sonnets, just some loops here and there. If you guys listen to electronic music you'll know it's largely comprised of simple loops. I guess I could use Garage Band's software keyboard to accomplish the same thing.

Ok, here is the issue. I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch 2.4 Core 2 Duo (late 2007 model) with 6GB of RAM (DDR2 667). I don't know how to explain this because I am so pissed! Ok so let me try. Take a look at this screenshot.
In proper English (the one spoken in Britain), pissed = drunk out of your head, pissed off = annoyed. I assume you are annoyed because you have just enough knowledge to get all heated up under your collar, but not enough knowledge to actually understand things.
Unused memory is useless. You bought 6 GB of RAM to use it. Freeing up the inactive memory just wastes it. What you want to do is like renting a huge storage space and paying lots of money for it, filling it with your stuff, and then complaining that you don't have any empty storage space left. That's the point of it, to be used.
I cant open other apps because there is only 28.6MB of memory FREE..
You _think_ you can't open other apps. If you had tried it, you would have seen that the application is started just fine, and the "inactive" memory gets instantly turned into "used" memory for the next application. And if you have neither unused nor inactive memory, you can still start more applications. The operating system will then automatically use the hard drive instead of RAM, which is slower but still works.

Unfortunately there does not seem to be a good way to sync most LG phones with a mac computer. The only thing I have come across is Bit Pim and its reviews are pretty spotty.
