I changed my adress after filing I-485 and I-765, thru online using AR11 form
Its prety easy and we got our new EAD cards to new adress.

Receipt notice Aug 29
Change the adress online on Aug 30.
Recvd conformation notice from USCIS on sep 6th. saying adress changed sucessfully. To the new adress.
Recvd EAD cards to new adress on SEP 10th.
so its very easy. nothing to worry .

We are actively meeting with lawmakers across Southern California in OC, LA and San Diego. New members, please sign in to our local chapter, details are in my signature. Join in on local lawmakers meetings and help in raising awareness of our issues. We have experienced members in our group who can provide guidance and answer all your questions if you have never done anything like this before. We do need active members in various constituencies though, to help us reach out to all the lawmakers in our region. If you are interested in meeting lawmakers please contact your state chapters, as they can help you in setting up an appointment. But before you do that you need to remember few things:-

It's a great article and maybe we shud add it in our FAQ section.
If you scroll down to the heading "The Bill Becomes Law"
it says :
Officially, after the President signs the bill, 10 days passes without a signature, or after a veto override, the bill is considered law. It is in effect at that moment. But in reality, it is, of course, more difficult than that.
Even on the Wikipedia article listed in the FAQ there was no mention of a 90 day delay. Just wondering if Sen Sessions simply asked for a 90 day delay or a 180 day delay.

I'm due for my H1 visa extn as it is going to expire in Apr-2010 and my employer is going to do it anytime soon. I have heard that these days USICS is extending the H1 based on the project end date mentioned on Purchase Order, if that is the case then
[1] does it mean that we can get extn only for 6 months or so instead of 3 yrs [if your I-140 is approved]?
[2] And after six months do we again have to file for extn and pay all the fees again ?
Any help on this issue is highly appreciated.

Very good post and the answer is in the last part:

I am not sure what what "renew 485" means though.

Go for it! She can volunteer (obviously, she cannot get paid for the work she will do). I think it is a great idea to volunteer to establish connections and gain work experience to get ready for a real job.
My wife did the same thing when she was on H-4 and HR had no issues with that.

If you see the regulations, you can't work for free on H4 if that work is generally done for money.
As some one stated, if you can't work on some thing that appears to have replaced an eligible worker.
Say for example you can't run a friends consulting company and say I am not being paid. Or teach in a for profit organization. You can however do some community work.
Some people might have gotten away by doing so , but I don't think that makes it legal or right.

One thing does not make any sense: If they have reduced the backlog so much, why can't they resume I 140 premium processing?
AILA is finally tired of asking this question, but it simply does not fit the equation that thye have not yet started premium processing (considering their love for money:p)

All dual intention like H1b/H4 are treated differently. For those AOS applicants where they also have H1b/H4 status ( Not necessarily VISA stamped) ..they need to be here when filed and if they leave after filing then neither I-485 or I-131 will get cancelled.
After approval, you can mail them.
I have known 2 person whose spouses came without problem.
Now , If you are F1 or B1 pure non immigrant VISA and you leave without it being approved then you are in problem.

NSC,I know they are really pain in the ass...my wife recently completed her PHD...we are now seriously thinking about filing another I-140 in EB1 category at TSC. I believe they are much faster than NSC. Again we are not sure whether we can able to file another I-485
If your i-140 reciept mentions 'Skilled worker or Professional, sec.203(b)(3)A(i) or (ii)' Then you are good to go.....dont worry about it was applied as skilled worker.... you should not have any problem in getting the approval again if you company financial status is good..

Hi folks,
Just got back from UK on Friday after a month of family time, medicals and our embassy interview! Wanted to let you all know that we were approved and happily back in the US!!
Congrats on the latest admin wins and movements in campaigns/projects. I wanted to say a huge thank you but not farewell to the many kind folks who kept my spirits high in the short time I have been with IV:
abhijitp, needhelp, digital2k, paskal, gsc999, waiting4gc, pappu, chanduv23, santb1975, nolaindian32, walking dude, ja1hind, logiclife and many more. All of you rock and America is very lucky to have such genuine and brilliant people like you. I wish you the very best for your own journey.
