For Firefox, is there a reason you're using Tabbrowser Extensions and not Tabbrowser Preferences?

Winclone usually works fine if you use uncompressed DMG.
I've been working on a replacement and trying to figure out why winclone fails as much as it does on SL. I hope to get an early version out next month, but am also working on several iOS projects.
I think you are in the minority if you will pay $50 for this. :(

The iMac is getting ready to be refreshed. Should be sandy bridge processors. The mini will follow, since it uses the same parts, not long after the iMac. Your decision will depend on what your going to use it for.
The mini does not use the same parts as the iMac to be pedantic. The mini uses MBP parts. The iMac uses desktop parts.

If it does what you need it to, and does it to your liking, I don't think there is any reason to upgrade.

I use the mobile version of the Mac Rumors forums when Im away from my computer. In doing this I have discovered a slightly annoying bug. When replying to a new thread on the mobile forums it does not create a subscription that is viewable within my control panel on the 'full' site.
Am i doing something wrong? Or is this a known bug?

I remember now - saw it in a documentary about So Cal homes and Steve wanting to tear this down.
Ugly anyways and I think he did them a favor...
Yea I agree. I don't know what the big deal is. It's really just an old house that a famousish person designed and another one lived in. Its like it was a frank lloyd wright or something.

I knew this was coming - Java 6u20 has security issues that this update addresses, albeit later than I hoped for. I hope this does not break my existing Java apps.

1) I don't believe so.
2) I just uninstall and reinstall the new version of Firefox. I haven't noticed that I lose anything, bookmarks, extensions, or plugins.
Oh, and I'm on a Windows  machine. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Hope this helps you out.
I don't know how the Windows version works, because I haven't updated one recently, but in both Windows and MacOS, *search* plug-ins ONLY are stored with the program files -- within the "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\searchplugins" folder in Windows and in the /applications/.../firefox/contents/MacOS/searchplugins folder in MacOS. Whereas all other extensions and themes are at least referenced in the profile, so that Firefox still has them on upgrade. But when you upgrade FF on a Mac by dragging the file from the disk image over the copy on the HD, it does overwrite any search plug-ins with the default, and the only way I've found around this is to archive the searchplugins folder before updating. I'm sure the FF people must be aware of this though...but still, maybe I should bother to make a comment in the FF forums.

For anyone with long password phrases that have easily-guessable words in the first 8 characters, this is a problem. Of course, we all have passwords that are a combination of letters and numbers, including a mix of upper- and lower-case characters. ;)
Actually, this is not entirely true. Keychain Access actually requires the full password. This issue has been documented on MacFixIt before.

If I remember correctly I needed the jumper on 1.5 for my xserve but I left everything alone on all the other xserves even my g5. I want to say something else about my old trusty g5....it have a slightly faster network transfer rate than all my other xserves
OK I tried a 3tb Hitachi in my 2009 xserve and it only reports 2.2tb, so I think 2.2 is the limit.

Its great that Apple are still updating Java... however, no news regarding Java 7... Hoping that Java 7 doesn't appear too long after official releases on other platforms.
Oracle announced Java 7 for Summer Java 8 12 to 18 months later. They are generally moving the JVM to better support languages other than Java, including support for functions as first-class objects among other improvements.

It's not the number of Megapixels, but the sensor size. Jamming that many MPs into a tiny sensor will not give you a good camera

Hello everyone. I am considering buying some ram for my Dell in signature. So it turns out that my Dell uses the exact same type of ram as my iMac 27" i7. As far as I know, the iMac by default comes with 4 ram slots, with 2x2GB ram being used for 4GB. This means that I should have 2 slots open, right? I was considering buying 2x2gb ram sticks, which will bring my dell up to 6GB Ram(4 slots as well, 2 are slightly more difficult to get to atm, currently has 4x1GB). I could then take the extra 2x1gb and boost my iMac up to 6 GB as well.
Now, the question. I went on NewEgg, and I noticed quite a few offers I could choose from, listed here.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007609%20600006178%20600000403&IsNodeId=1&name=4GB%20%282%20x%202GB%29
Now, I have never purchased ram before. As far as I can tell, each offer has the exact same specs, but slightly different prices. By first glance, of course I would jump to the $40.99 Crucial listing. Is their a reason for different pricing? Is one package preferred over the other?
Thanks
Bruce
Edit: On second glance, it seems the Ram in my iMac is 1333 Mhz, not the 1066. I know for a fact that the Ram in my Dell and the Late 2009 MBP are compatible with each other(and I know the MBP was 1066 Mhz). I was also under the impression that the Ram in that MBP and my iMac was also compatible. Will my iMac only support 1333 MHz, or will 1066 MHz work as well?

This is just a thought, but maybe you could take one of your own flash drives into an Apple Store? They might be willing to clone one of the USB drives for you, or maybe even replace it for a small fee.
Now heres an idea...

I have a white iPhone4, I have no issues with the sensor or drop of signal at all :)
I was waiting on the 5 but have always wanted a white iPhone, my 3GS is black and so far I'm very pleased indeed :D
Did you previously have the black one?

In OS X you can literally control just about any aspect of the the operating system via terminal. I would argue that an expert *nix user has more "unrestricted control" over OS X than an expert windows user can have under XP.

Yes I say a 'cracked' version because I don't know if he paid for it or not, and I didn't pay for it, my choice of words, i admit, was not very good!
I apologize to all those who really hold the rules of these forums so close to their hearts. I don't however believe I have broken the rules but if you feel otherwise I hope my apology puts a smile on your face and makes your day just that bit better! ;)
