Just got told kanex xd won't work on the new imacs ... so i can't connect xbox 360 to imac like before ... pfft i ain't buying this now .. just going to wait for mac mini unless they remove the hdmi out on that and completely fu## meh!

Since the new TB port only support device with Thunderbolt capabilities, a.k.a no HDMI input unless your PS3/Xbox suddenly support Thunderbolt
Yeah that's why don't ever buy 3rd party accesories for your :apple: . They can lock it whenever they want. Suddenly the "Compatible with Mac" on your acc packaging doesn't mean a thing anymore
So what you're gonna do? You want to game a lot on iMac? I think 6970M is awesome GPU, just no Uncharted, Halo or bluray player gonna displayed on imac screen .. such a waste

I would suggest partitioning the SSD in half, and using the 2nd Partition for Scratch. The SSD is going to respond faster, than the 7200, and thus your not compromising the disk with all your images on it. At least if the SSD crashes, its just your OS, and you can restore it. Images on the other hand, if not backed up, usually go poof....
There's no point in partitioning an SSD.
Partitioning is useful on a HDD, to force files into a 'fast' area of the disk, or prevent fragmentation. Neither are issues for SDD (and the SDD controller effectively ignores partitioning anyway - wear levelling can store a new file in any physical location).

I'm looking for some guidance, my wife and I both have an iPhone and a new ipad2.
I have iTunes on a laptop and have successfully synced my iPhone and iPad to my iTunes account.
My wife has a very different taste in music, apps etc and has her own iTunes account. The only access she has to iTunes on a computer is via my laptop but I can't seem to sync her phone or iPad with her iTunes account, for some reason it iTunes wants to sync my content to her devices.
How can I resolve this?

Don't do it, I've recently run into circumstances where a used mac I purchased from ebay, from an account that's 4+ years old, active, and very highly rated, may actually be stolen. Not worth it at all in my opinion.

No, you cannot always trust Mac OS X's pronunciations. They are often fairly inaccurate. Then again, the technology hasn't changed terribly much since it was introduced in the Mac OS.

Most certainly unregistered. My 2009 shipped with 6x2GB and those are unregistered chips. I don't expect any of the Apple ones to be registered but the 8GB sticks.

Did the movie play fine on the Mac earlier or another PC? Is it the latest WMV10 codec (which is un-playable on Macs)?
Hi MJ...yes it did...all seemed fine..some Quicktime trilers have lost their sound too...the WMP dislpays that warning and freezes!

Thanks for the advice. I will try that when I get home from work today. Do I issue that command from the terminal screen? Sorry to sound so clueless. I'm not familiar at all with the server version yet. I guess I need the OSX server for dummies book! :rolleyes:

over priced best advice is that if you want the 2010 model is to go on
Apples refurbished site and at least you get a machine with any problems
fixed and you get an 1 year Apple warranty or pay � 200 more and get

This morning I went to put on my NBC digital station and instead of my local news, there was basically the rehearsals for this morning's "Today" show. Katie was reading a script with some guy timing her, and then she was putting on her mic pack and Matt was yawning, then there was this thing for the "Bush Revised Cold Open 1" with the cliched colour lines sort of thing. Then they played bits and pieces of it and then bits and pieces of the opening song (for syching purposes, I'd suppose). Then they did about a 2 minute runthrough, did the opening credits and then Matt and Katie did their little thing from Humanity Plaza. Then they stopped and Katie's like "How 'bout they stop hammering for the open?'" then it cut to black and then the real one was on.
Somebody musta screwed up, huh?
Oh, and yes, the proper local news was on the analouge station.
