Are you sure that program works with a non-Intel Mac? I keep getting Java errors, telling me I need a new version.
I didn't even think that it would be an issue. I can't say I know what would be causing that, or what a fix would be. Sorry.

Steve Rosenbaum needs to learn how to use spell/grammar check. I've come to expect "loose" instead of "lose" and other spelling/grammar errors in forums, but this is an article on the Huffington Post. I got a little more than halfway through before I had to close the tab.
My personal favourite was the following opening few words to a paragraph, "google tv apple Apple wins on look and feel..."
Is it the iPhone auto-correct? And :apple:TV logo for the Apple logo?

Yes, I know you probably cant. But is there anywhere I could get a hole of a G5 Processor. I want to build one myself is possible. Also is there anywhere I should look for Power Mac's G5 used? They are all so exspensive on ebay for even used ones. I would love one if I could ever afford it.:(

I think if an apple designer presented that mockup they would probably be fired on the spot.

Do they have a 68k client? I remember that distributed.net had one, and it was funny comparing an SE/30 to a (then top-of-the-line) 4-way 550 MHz Pentium III Xeon system at work.
And to think, the Mac Pro 3.0 GHz has five and a half times the processing power of that old system, for less than the cost of a SINGLE processor from that old system. (A 550 MHz/2MB cache Pentium III Xeon was $3,692 (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/sp082399.htm) at intro, compared to an otherwise-stock Mac Pro 3.0 GHz at $3299.) The old server also only supported 4 GB of RAM, max. (In 16 PC-100 DIMM slots, each supporting a max 256 MB.) Compare that to the Xeon Xserve, which also has 16 DIMM slots, but supporting up to 4 GB in each slot, for a max of 32 GB of RAM.

Sounds like your optical drive is fubar.
There's are a few options here. You can take to apple repair and pay to get it replace which can be quite costly. You could use an external USB CD drive but this can be in convenient if you move around a lot with your MacBook. Finally you can pick up a replacement drive fro eBay or another online retailer and do the repair yourself. Its very simple and the whole process should take around 15-30 minutes depending on skill set.
Here is a guide to help you (http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repair/MacBook-Core-2-Duo-Optical-Drive-Replacement/518/1).

You can run Bootcamp partition in VMWare Fusion. However, you have to install Windows via bootcamp first, not the other way around. Also, you have to activate a lot of apps twice (once for each side). It can be a bit of a pain to manage but it does work.

Hey guys I was wondering what I should do with my money from my Birthday. I narrowed it down to two things I really want. I could get the iPod Photo or I could get this lcd (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1119192&sku=N52-1710) and an iPod mini. What would you suggest? :D
I would not recommend that LCD, it doesn't have a digital input interface like DVI. Cheaper LCDs use the standard RGB analog input, there is a huge difference in quality. All apple LCD displays are digital whether they are ADC or DVI.

hey everyone,
I was wondering how to make a table view that would have like 5 rows in it, that is no problem to do i know, but i was wondering how i could make so each cell in the table view would need a different password to get into it.
I am asking my girlfriend to prom, so i am making a scavenger hunt thing for her based of my iphone..
any idea how to make the password thing happen?

That PB model doesn't support SATA. You'll need to find an IDE Ultra DMA/100 (ATA-6). You should be able to find up to 250GB. Hope this helps.
Actually, there is a way.. here is the link to add PATA-SATA adapter.. converts your pata to a sata, so you can use sata drives in the powerbook.
http://microsatacables.com/catalog/i196.html
I know someone who put this small, micro adapter in and now he can use any sata drive and ssd sata based drive.. the only drawback: SATA I speed, for now though I heard they may come out with a SATA II version.

Hi,
I'm looking for a recommendation for a file sharing service where I can configure individual users with passwords.
So for example when john logs on he can see my files only intended for him.
I need to be able to upload files up to 100mb and I don't want just anyone to be able to access them.
Can you recommend a good service that works for you?

Depending on model, the new iMacs ship with Core i5-2400S (low-end 21"), i5-2500S (high-end 21" and low-end 27"), i5-2400 (high-end 27") CPU's in their standard configurations. BTO variants are available with Core i7-2600S (high-end 21"), and Core i7-2600 (high-end 27").
I actually didn't know the iMac used all low-power Sandy Bridge designs ("S") for their CPU's except for the high-end 27" model (both in its BTO variant and not).
All CPU's here were introduced in early 2011 and I believe at the same date as the 2500K. :)

Hi People,
I have finished editing a short film in Final Cut Pro, i exported to quicktime movie, put that in idvd and burnt a dvd. My project was shot and edited in 16:9 pro res 422 HQ
So I play it on my computer, and it looks fine; when i play it in my dvd player it appears to have been zoomed in a bit. So i use my remote control to zoom the screen out so that it appears in the middle of the screen smaller, and i can see the full frame as it was meant to be played. Ive tried playing my dvd on a different tv (all widescreen digital ones) and even through a playstation 2 and it still appears zoomed in. Please help!

Hey guys!
So, I'm considering selling my MacBook, and I'd like a valuation, if possible.
I bought this machine 2.5 years ago from two eBay auctions The first was for a broken MacBook A1181, the second was for a MacBook 4,1 motherboard w/ a Core 2 Duo clocked at 2.4Ghz. Interesting to note that the guts of my White MacBook are from a Black MacBook :)
(Relevant) hardware specs:
CPU: Core 2 Duo @ 2.4Ghz/T8300 Bus Speed: 800Mhz
RAM: 4Gb/667Mhz
Disk: 500Gb at 5400rpm
The battery also provides at most 3 hours of power (still beating most other laptops :P) when doing casual browsing over WiFi.
All in all, it's a pretty beefy machine, and can even power external monitors up to 1620 x 1080.
It has some cosmetic damage, but I'd hope most people would be willing to look beyond that. Gallery here: http://imgur.com/a/bkBd7#xFLrp
Would someone please help value my MacBook? I've spent at least $800, and think it could be worth around $500 to $600.
Thanks!

That one day of not freezing on first boot was luck i guess.
Since then it's been something new everyday. Yesterday it hung on the blue screen on first boot and it worked on second boot. Today it gave me a kernal panic on first boot with a bunch of text on screen, second time it worked..
what is the deal with it not working on first boot?
