Open Activity Monitor to see if there's a process using a lot of your resources (RAM and CPU). :)

what hardware first of all, zoom what, what effects?
assuming these are analogue effects (doesnt sound like you're a logic veteran, or that you have amazing studio setup)
If their are multiple outputs on your hardware just above the volume slider on the track you want to apply fx to should be a bar with stereo output 1-2, you could change the output to 3 or 4 or whatever and youd probably want to make it mono to. you can then take a cable, whack it through your fx, and do a live recording out of your fx, back into an audio input of your pc and record that to new track (with real vocals its good practice to keep a clean copy of the vox track in case you want to go back on the fx)
buses you can also select in the box above the vol slider, once you make a bus you can send multiple tracks through it, so say you have 1 vocal lead track and a harmony, you want to apply the same fx or automation to (if you dont know what that is press a in logic) you can change the outputs to bus 1 say (or any free bus) and then use the bus 1 on the mixer window to control any fx.
basically there are lots of ways to do things in logic, depending on whether your making electronic, or metal, or country, or pop. There are many decent guides on the net, not to forget apples own documentation, and if you want to really make good tracks it's advisable that you read as much as you can and toy as much as you can with logic.
also youtube is full of training vids if you cant be bothered to read
Sorry my communication skills are a bit ****, and sorry I probably just confused you, but yeah, gimme some more info on what your doing.

I use ImageCapture. All Macs have this App. I set it to auto open whenever my iPhone is connected.

A thought, that is a carrier setting it asks for sometime. If it was interrupted in asking for that with a bad signal it wont give you the option?

What the hell?
Looks like crap inside. Where is the CPU?
I think that's why it's not user accessible?

Yes - MacTel. Bought a bare-bones system. Was able to at least sell it here for the cost of shipping to a collector to at least preserve it (complete with Apple Mac Clone OS disc and all paperwork).
I bought a couple of PowerComputing clones from eBay a few years back - I just didn't have the space for them and tried to give those away but couldn't. They were given to a computer disposal company... :(

cscope can be installed via MacPorts (http://www.macports.org/).
MacOS X comes with the BSD version of ctags. You can install Exuberant Ctags, which you're probably more familiar with, from MacPorts as well.
Most coding is done in Objective-C using XCode on Mac OS X. XCode also supports C and C++ development as well.
There's also Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org/) or Netbeans ( www.netbeans.org).
If you don't want a full on IDE, there's Text Wrangler (http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/), which is pretty popular with programmers.
Personally I use TextMate (http://macromates.com/), when I'm not using MacVim (also installable via MacPorts). If you're from the Emacs school, there's Aquamacs (http://aquamacs.org/). Or course, Terminal versions of both vim and emacs are preinstalled.

Yes its the rubber that's pealing, the little bits tend to get on the screen and it feels like there are eraser bits all over the screen. As much as I love this case, I hate the fact that it flakes.

Unfortunately there aren't any docking stations for the macbook air, infact the only docking station for any mac laptop is a port replicator for the MBP. I beileve that there is a stand somewhere, but I personally don't see the need, hopefully thunderbolt will bring some interesting options. That is if its included in the next MBA.
Thanks for information.
