No white iphone till mid July.
The line in Reno is growing, at 5:00 pm there were around 12 waiting in line. The security guys were there to keep the peace I guess so I am assuming that they are letting them stay.
How does it work with a reservation? Do I have to wait in the long line tommarrow? Or can I just walk in and pick it up, if there is no one else waiting to get their reserved phone?

TinyUmbrella is now updated to support 4.3.2 / 4.2.7 iOS versions. He has also added a simple feature to allow you to 'Visit Blog' when updates are available.
OK so it looks like Cydia is giving up the ghost and having some major issues. So you may want to save your SHSH from APPLE directly instead of CYDIA (the default) go into Advanced options and UNCHECK the box that clearly says: "Request SHSH From Cydia" then click 'Apply Changes' then select your device then click 'Save SHSH'
Note to keep Cydia from trashing your saved SHSH I suggest changing the location you save to as well at this point.....

got it.
the problem was that XAMPP was not adding the password i had used for the user that i had created.
i figured this out when i was able to log into the table thru workbench with the user - so long as i didn't supply the password.
so i ran the xampp security to enable/add passwords, then deleted/recreated the db and user and used workbench to check that everything was fine.
oddly, however, the mysql.default_socket = /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mysql/mysql.sock part didn't work when i tried to create the tables. so i created a symlink:
sudo ln -s /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/var/mysql/ /var/mysql
and so far so good. i just wish XAMPP would have simply ran a normal installer that placed things where they were supposed to be and didn't do whatever it was they did which prevented the new user from having a password. just painful stupidity.

first: in the browse by artist/song/genre listings, provide an alphabetical jump-list so people don't have to scroll through the entire catalog.
right now it's not a problem to scroll through the entire database -- it's at a size where this can still be done. but once you hit critical mass, i'm imagining a scenario where someone wants to look at the content on a scope somewhere between a full-catalog browse and a specific search. accessing what's in the database might be an easier task if the information is available at several different granularities.
second: (and this may be what user jbembe recently suggested; i'm not sure if i followed that thread correctly) provide a weighted song-recommendation function. pick a song, or a group of songs, from your playlist. other people's playlists are scanned, and playlists that contain your selection(s) are retrieved, providing a pool of songs that have been recommended by people who share some portion of your musical interests.
these select playlists are then examined, and if a song exists on (just for instance here) 50% or more of these playlists then it's assumed that the song has some merit and isn't just one person's fancy. lastly, if the song doesn't already exist in your own playlist, it's recommended to you.

I turned off my brand-new (I've had it for 10 days) PowerBook this morning for a little cleaning...I wipe it down every once in a while with a moist paper towel.
When I plugged it back in and pressed the power button, instead of turning on the fans went on full blast, a chime I've never heard before played, sort of like a long steady tone for 2-3 seconds, and then the sleep light started flashing really rapidly for about 5 seconds. About 10 seconds later the hard drive spun down. I pressed the power button again and it started right up with no problem after, but I'm a bit nervous.
Was this a death chime? I can't find anything about them anywhere, or anything about a rapidly-flashing-sleep-light. All I know is that when my iBook's logic board failed it wouldn't start up and the fan came on all the way (though it did that every few weeks even after the logic board had been replaced, and I had no real problems with it after).
I'm off to run a hardware test. :)

Ok i will try it. Thank you. Is it normal for my mac to act this way though? I just don't get why all of a sudden I am needing to have to restart every other day rather then before, where I restarted every other week.

Well I know the mac Plus is supposed to support up to 2TB of Hard Disk Space, so I assume the SE/30 would also.
I don't understand why you want a 9.1GB Hard Disk in a Mac SE/30.
The reason why the Hard Disk may not want to work is because the hard disk is Ultra160 SCSI the SE/30 has a normal SCSI bus, which may be too slow for the Ultra160 SCSI HD (Just guessing)

Buy a new battery. The Apple Store still sells them.
+1 - If the iBook is still meeting your needs a new battery is a lot cheaper than a new Laptop. (And it keeps another of the older Macs going.... which is always a good thing).

My new Pioneer DVD burner supports 8x dual layer burning. The only media I see is 2.4x. Will 2.4x media burn at 8x, or do I just have to wait for 8x media to actually hit the shelves?

i've noticed i've had to sign in about 50% of the time coming since the change... not just the first time with each browser either.
i guess that's probably due to the ongoing changes and server problems... a bit annoying but not as bad as getting server too busy errors...

I'm tried direct connection but no luck. Is a regular CAT 5 cable sufficient? Or would I need a "crossover" cable?
Thanks,
Thanks,

I'm pretty sure it's deserialized from the main nib which is declared in the Info.plist file. But I am at work on a PC so can't check right now.

If I notice that a track has been remastered and sounds better on a compilation than the original album, I link to the better sounding version. Of course, if the original album has been remastered that's the best choice.

Make sure you put your iphone in Pwned DFU mode before you try to restore to the custom 4.3.2 ipsw with itunes.
Once you do that correct you wont need to use Tinyumbrella to kick it out of recovery, it will start right up after the restore is done.

It's a decent machine for surfing the net, but watch out for flash.
You can't upgrade beyond 10.5 as others have mentioned.
My wife uses a 1.33 ghz iBook G4 for surfing and it's fine.

the truly funny part could come 15 years from now when his Football teammates are sending his picture all over the clubhouse with silly captions attached to it.
Cute little guy ... is that just one tooth he's got on the bottom?
That would be pretty funny, yep, thats one little tooth. Tooth came in about two weeks ago, its funny looking. One lonely tooth.

Alan Wake is a game that grabs you as soon as it starts. The first thing to note is that this game looks absolutely beautiful. Voice quality is one of the best I have heard in any game. About Alan Wake is credible. And the most important story is excellent.

I've been having this issue for over a week. I just noticed it, since I had to take my MBP (LAte 2008 2.4 MHZ unibody, 4gb) in to the Apple Store for a repair, and wanted to remove any passwords so the tech wouldn't have any problems working on it.
I couldn't access the Accounts pane. It freezes for a bit, then the entire window closes, giving me the option to ignore or tell Apple about it.
I had to remove the password from the Snow Leopard disk. I was told to remove the prefs file, the plist file, and cache files; nothing worked. I was told to reinstall a clean system. That didn't work, either. I upgraded using the combo updater to 10.6.7. Still no go.

You should make an iPhone version? More people have iPhones/iPod touches than iPads. Or be nice and make it universal :D
