That is hiding specs from people that would really like to know. That is the people who read the spec sheets and have good reason to do so. Little things add up be it the RAM in an iPhone/iPad, what the SD slot is capable of or any of a number of other devices that are poorly speced on the machine. cards.
Ram in the iPhone/ipad and is not particularly important to anyone but developers. It is what it is. It is not useful to compare RAM in an iPhone to RAM in an EVO (for example).
The Tech Spec says SD Slot, I am not sure why it needs to go into any detail in the marketing material. This is a case where it would clearly confuse customers, most of whom just want to know if there SD card will work in the system. It is easy enough to find every minute hardware detail on an OSX system, anyone who needs to know can find out easy enough.
Apple is not hiding anything, they are just presenting a meaningful message.

Alright, here we go Apple: I *will* buy a 13" MacBook Air on the day of the next refresh if it can have:
- Core i5 processors
- SD card slot (oops)
- backlit keyboard
- integrated 3G/LTE
- 10-hour battery life to match the iPad
A tall order, of course, but one can hope.
Hey Apple: I'll still buy one even if you don't quite manage to fit in the last two (but please try to increase battery life anyway).

I have heard of Folding@home at it sounds interesting. I like the idea of helping scientists with their experiments.
Unfortunately I have two problems with this.
1) Ultimately where does all this research go? Who is benefitting from it all? I can't help but think that all this research will just enable some multi-billion dollar drug company to come up with some pill that they can patent and make billions of more dollars. I tried reading the faqs of Folding@home, but it does not really say where all this research is going. I am sure the scientists mean well with their research, but ultimately they will not be the ones creating the drugs to cure these diseases. Drug companies will be doing that, and they are strictly profit oriented.
2) My electricity prices are going up by about 10% so I really don't like the idea of my iMac running 24-7 eating up electricity, and adding to the wear and tear of my system. I'm not sure what the monthly cost would be running Folding@home, but I'm sure it adds up.
Can anyone here comment on these concerns?
Well you do have a point. I can't really comment about it, other than that I don't know.
And yes, electricity costs do add up. But I still believe that it's a good thing to do

No, PN is when the Apple Push Notification server tells your phone you have a notification. The apps do not need to be running. Its suppose to save you battery life by not having multiple apps open all the time.
so then how will it work exactly when i turn all the PN's on? Will i get alerts in the form of a text message? or will it have a little number in the corner of the app??

^ Let us know how Rayman plays.
I'm picking up Rabbids 3D tomorrow.
Ridge Racer is a slow burner and has grown on me. Really enjoying Lego StarWars, however the space combat levels are pants. PilotWings is my biggest let down. There's nothing that 'bad' about it - it's just that it doesn't have the magic of past pilotwings.

Anyways, the 3DS just needs titles. It's a solid portable gaming system with no shortage of GREAT DS games to play on it until 3DS titles start to role in.
Hopefully, not merely updated N64 titles... ;)
Yes, even with the 3D off - the games look nice...

Just an FYI. I ordered from bestbuy.ca at the end of last week and never got a beta key. seems as though maybe they aren't giving them out anymore.

Um, no it doesn't Fuji S1, S2, S3 RAW Files are not supported. This camera is used by more wedding photographers than any other.
That's a pretty big call. I don't know how accurate that is. Anybody agree, or have any data to support that?

We're losing as long as we are spending ourselves into oblivion to fight this threat.
I agree, but that's self inflicted and doesn't have to happen.

Yes, where's the MacBook Pro with integrated toaster?
Quite why people keep expecting announcements of upgraded laptops at a photography conference is beyond me.
Why apple hasn't released a C2D macbook pro in time for the "back to school" buying season is beyond me. Every single one of these events is a possibility for an upgrade. Furthermore, those of us that want the latest and greatest for a $2,000+ investment are getting a little tired of being let down over and over again.
Get with the program Apple!! GOSH

Ill agree with you on Lack of Education and Religious Extremism. Resentment, somewhat. I tend to think that if we just leave them the heck alone to do whatever they want and be as Shariah as they please we will see less terror attempts.
Terrorism typically arises from some sort of injustice. I think there is some truth to the clich "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." But "leaving them alone" is somewhat problematic as long as we support multinational enterprise that seeks to extract maximum profit in every corner of the world. Even if the business s not based in America, America is the most prominent target.
I know it is not apples-to-apples, but I was wondering if anyone has seen the National Geographic on North Korea? One part that struck my nerve was at the end when the doctors were removing the bandages from the patients eyes, one of the North Koreans first thing to do was go praise a poster of Ill and promise to "Destroy the american scum with my new eyes" or something like that, despite the fact that much of the equipment used to complete the surgeries was American made and American funded IIRC.
Most likely, the government expects this sort of show of loyalty, when they are paying for your treatment. If you do not do this, you would probably labeled as seditiously ungrateful and they would find some way to make your life miserable.

I just want to say how much I both love and hate Macrumors. :)
Sent from my shiny new iPad just purchased from Verizon.
:) That is what my friend said about me. I turned him on to this deal and he bought one.

Fascists show no mercy to ANYONE.. Tea Party = the new modern NAZI PARTY.
I'd laugh if I wasn't crying over that historical fallacy.
