Problem with not including filing fee is you do not get the receipt or receipt number, Hence difficult to track.
Customer service opened SR and sent to local office. Got letter from DHS (3 weeks back)that they researched case and are actively processing it, also if I dont get any correspondence with in 180 days contact them.
Till date I did not get any letter saying that case has opened. Will it help if I take Infopass and go to local office. Please advice.

I am trying to keep track of 2004 cases. I think USCIS is not doing fair justice by not giving preference to 2004 cases. Please post your priority date, I-140 approval dates(if approved), I-485 received dates, Name check cleared date(if cleared), finger print cleared date(if you gave finger prints and they got cleared)

I think mine is straight forward case. :confused:
I am not an expert in starting a poll - But I think it will help to take a headcount for /year PD basis.
Esp. 2002,2003,2004,2005,Until June1,2006 cases. Proportion of which could serve as some kind of estimate - Can be cross checked with for sanity.

My wife's EAD renewal was e-filed with a receipt date of june 6 th, almost 120 days, still waiting. Got biometric notice for july 1st and finished it.After 94 days called 1-800 to request expediting the case on sep. 11 th, they sent a RFE asking for I-94 copies and stating biometrics were not transmitted to them and needed information on that, along with enlarged copy of photo ID.
Responded to RFE with a receipt date of sep. 25 th and no updates till day.
Called on 9/3 asnd raised a 2nd SR for expediting. AS her EAD expired on oct.1st and was given 1 week to produce new EAD by oct 10 th by her employer.
WE were hoping for some miracle by monday:confused:

We can demand a purple card for any techworker who had worked and paid taxes and contributed to Social Security and medicare for three continuous years. This card should allow free travel and work permit for spouse. Counterpart of blue card for illegals......Once the priority date becomes current and adjustment of status is complete, purple card is replaced by green card !!!!!!!!

A fix without AC-21 does not bring lot of relief for us, I hope they receive I-485 and allow us to use AC-21.

You need to file form 4852. That is super easy and I have filed it once.
There are no problems with that whatsoever.
You employer cannot pull a single hairstring from your head. So do not worry about the legal notice. That is all bull. He is probably worrying day and night about the DOL complaint you made.
What you need to, further, is go to the local IRS office and talk to one of the employee about not getting your W-2. Not providing a W-2 is serious issue.

We had the appt wt infopass the other day.I guess it was just like others,some kinda error and that happened opening the SR wt TSC.They said our case is preadjudicated.and said we may want to check on the case by making an appt wt the center but maybe NOT calling and opening a service request.What a waste of time n energy, all the agony we had to go through!!
NOW guys i have some other issue/question to ask u all.
After the EAD is approved do u necessarily have to be working for the same employer who sponsored for you? Ours is like future appointment.The USCIS wanted some docs from us this June re the appontment/work related.And yesterday when we asked that officer she said our case is preadjuticated as of Oct 2009.So far we have taken couple of paychecks frm the sponsoring company.But then we have our own small business also that has kept us going.And we were thinking of taking more paychecks after the GC is approved.Does that make sense to you guys? or are we at fault?

While rushing to send our packages to USCIS on July2nd, we could not get our future employment letter signed and did not include in the package. But now I have the employment letter.
Experts, do you think I need re-file or wait out?

No she cant becuase her visa appointment is on Aug 13.
I think you should be able to manage it. I am not sure if USCIS will accept report from Doctor's in Mumabi. it has to be one the cerified civil surgeon.
You can ask your wife to have all immunization record ready. Talk to some civil surgeons in advance and explain your situation and ask if they can provide blood report in one day. Mostly they send blood work to another blood lab so you may have to contact lab if they can give the test result in same day. Although ppd test is required but you can try to convince civil surgeon to skip it and go with just x-ray and later deal with rfe. Or you can ask civil surgeon if he accept PPD report from some other doctor's in India. Another option could be that she can take PPD injection in india and show it to the civil surgeon here. Explore all your posibilities here. You have enough time to explore your options.

Transfered from NSC to CSC. My bad luck. Didn't apply EAD, AP. No news on FP. I heard that CSC processes FP lat than other centers. I know my neighbours got FP notices who filed a month later from NSC.

Because of sudden influx of projects coming to India last year, there was a temporary upsurge in the demand for skilled personnel in india ....So there are many options for these people which caused the higher attrition as they have many options open....So temporarily these IT Companies used to retain highly skilled employees at any cost and kept them in front line and recruited some freshers (i have seen one company recruited freshers and charged them 50,000 ...you heard it right :0 initally with the commitment of 2 years).
As the freshers are catching up with the experienced ..i see a sharp decline in demand my area of expertise from past 6 months to an Year .... But from CEO point of view , still work is done ..with 40 % or more saving ..may be for little compromise on quality ....
I have a feeling that attrition rate may slow down in coming years .....
Any one please share your views /experiences ..

Based on what Sheela wrote looks like it is related with lot of money transfer. I am thinking that is true because of the name 'Immigration and Customs Enforcement'. If it is related with just immigration then I don't think Customs Enforcement will come into picture. bujjigade123, did you do lot money movement from US-India-US? Why did they visit your employer 2 months back? Do you know what they asked your employer?

but even with this big announcement tomorrow, we still only have 140,000 visas and keep in mind USCIS has just been averaging about 100,000 per year. (so about 40,000 get wasted every year)
All all this does is to push the bottleneck further down the pipeline.

In general a person who is in the US should have a valid and unexpired passport at all times. In addition, there is a whole loooooong list of documents that you attach to the I485- your attorney should advise you on this. The most important once for employment based immigration are documents showing legal status up until the I485 application and current offer letter from your company. There are many many more documents you need to provide...search the net for the necessary documents...
