When i called last time when my wife EAD got approved, they told me the address on the application. So they should know.
Did you get Soft LUD after you filed change of address? If yes, then it's probably updated.
I did not get any soft LUD. Will all the updates happening, folks getting second FP, I wanted to make sure my case is not getting delayed due to some mistake either on their or my part. If nothing else, upon changing the address using online means, USCIS should have sent me a notice in mail at my new address to confirm the change, which I did not get. Hence the query.

I have also heard that it can be picked up from a consulate. How does that work?
you would have to specify that when you apply for the AP. Look at part 7 item 2 in the application.

my EAD is about to expire on may 6th. I applied for EAD renewal in january , i had around 90 days. My application package along with the cheque came back to me after 1month because I forgot to sign the application form.. Dumb right....
Then i signed my form and send it back to TSC . So i was in a bad situation becuase my employer said if i do not get my EAD card before it expires, they will have to lay me off. So here is what i did , i contacted my local Congressman's office through their website and raised a request to expedite my case and stated if i do not get my EAD i will loose my job.
Surprisingly i got a mail from the congressman office that they are looking into my case and they will take it forward... and after a week i got a mail from USCIS saying my case is approved . So if someone is in my kind of situation its better to go through congressman or senator rather than info pass all that route.. Politics and politicians speak in a different language and so it always wins!!!

I am specifically interested in getting media mileage out of this. I feel, you can get media mileage, if the media is alerted before hand, otherwise 50-60-100 or 200 boukets of flowers by itself wont be enough to get attention.
Iv has not endorsed it, probably because we have been trying to get serious media attention, and we have not gotten as much as we would like. If you are going with this flower idea - Make sure you get some reporters already involved, otherwise wont be worth it. (My take).

The line in bold above is NOT TRUE. You can work in the USA with the approved H1B even if it is not stamped and even if you arrived using H4. All you need is a SSN along with the approved H1B to start working.
What you say is true if the approval notice (I-797) has I-94 attached. If not, then she needs to go out of the country to change status.
In other words, the status is determined by I-94.

No problem with expired i-94. Just inform them about I-485 filing. I did it without any problem.

Your company must file an amended petition for the reduced hours, they will have to follow the current prev wage survey, might be a problem to get a transfer if the USICS notices the low wages, yes they might evaluate the case again.

What happen to a person with H1B and then EAD. Main job he continues with original employer who file GC and take a partime like working in a store. What will be the interpretation and Can he do that?

O.K. Once you get EAD being a H4 Visa holder you can do multiple jobs in multiple field as you were having H4 status. But now if you are having H1 status then you can do multiple jobs with all jobs having similar description to the job description for what your original employer filed your green card (485).
Now real question should be "Should I use EAD or Should I be on H1/H4?"
If U choose to use your EAD than from that moment your H status expires. In normal circumstances you would not care. But in reality your 485 process will still continue for years and say unfortunately something bad happen to your 485 process and get denied then you will have one choice that is to leave USA. But if you have maintained your H status not using EAD then in that kind of scenario you still keep working and staying in USA.

I just received a USCIS automated e-mail indicating an RFE has been issued with regard to my pending I-140 (pending since January 16, 2007, at NSC)...have yet to receive the actual RFE letter. My AP application has been pending since August 1, 2007, also at NSC. Can this RFE delay processing of my AP? I need to travel this month and had also sent a fax to USCIS requesting expediting the I-131. Please let me know what you think, as I am very worried! What could the RFE be in regards to? I work for a university, have a 4 year degree (obtained in the US, along with an MBA), and ability to pay should not be an issue. No experience required!

there is a discussion about this elsewhere in the forum. please go thru the previous threads.
in those discussion threads, it was mentioned that after I-140 is revoked, the USCIS will send an RFE to you asking for evidence of future employment consistent with the labor certificate description. it will give you a few weeks time to respond back to the RFE.
Then you are to send a letter from your new employer that they are promising you a job in future where you would essentially do the same job functions as described in the labor...
if you inform the USCIS using AC 21 provision to change the job upfront, you may not get this RFE.

i am in the same boat..applied for GC in august but not married yet..
From my understanding, i can add my spouse later when she's here and my PD is current but before my gc is approved.
there are two worst case scenarios,
1) If GC gets approved before marriage. there's nothing i can do other than marrying someone, who has her own visa. I know this won't happen.
2) GC may get approved even my PD is not current but after marriage, then I would have 6mo grace period to apply for her. This may happen due to uscis messing up with dates..
Please someone let me know if I am missing something..

This is really news to me. I thought once you switch to H4 from H1, your H1 is gone. To come back on H1, you have to re-apply which will be subjected to cap.

Reason - if member opted for "Bill Pay" (to make payments recurring )Bank deducts the money from the account as soon as the Paper check [from the bank] gets sent . This is done to ensure that the Bank has the cash to pay the check it mailed to payee (IV). If check never gets encashed that money is lost and wasted!
I don't know if this is feasible or not, but if IV can provide a bank Account Number and Routing, "Bill Pay" can be set such that Bank will send the amount Electonically to IV account (as E-check). E-checks get cashed in 2 days compared to Paper checks (sent by the bank) which takes 5 days [per my bank]. It's just a suggestion as I have no ideas on the issues and the logistics involved.
This is only temporary. We will accept the checks after some time and will update the page.

1. Bring him to USA on F-1. With a good GRE, TOEFL score, an admit from a good university and a true passion to do M.S. will help get a F-1 Visa. Also, your friend can pay for his first semester fees, which will also help to build a strong F-1 case.
2. Look for a job for him in a public/non-profit organization where you don�t have a lot of H-1 restrictions. Ask him to build up his skill set and be prepared to do any kind of employment.
3. I am not too familiar with "Follow-to-join" process, but that might be an option. ***May not be applicable, but just a thought***
4. Like someone mentioned, both of you relocate to Canada, where its easier to get Perm residency.
5. Ask her to apply for Citizenship whenever she is eligible, so that, its much easier to bring the spouse in. ***Might take a few years, but it still is an option***

no it is SUSTAIN act. Not Strive. SUSTAIN only has H1 visa increase... So it will ensure that retrogression and backlogs are sustained... :)
