If you filed G 28 then both you and Lawyer will receive the copy of RFE. In case you have not filed G 28 only you will receive the RFE copy. USCIS does not care who answers the RFE as long as it is satisfied with the response.
Just want to double confirm, are you sure that if G-28 is filed along with I-485, ONLY lawer receives RFE letter. Can you please point to any official link?
I left my old job where I filed G-28 with I-485. At my new job, HR in immigration department are telling me that there is no need to file G-28 since RFE is received by the applicant. Nor they recommend filing AC21. So no G-28 no AC21

show your H1 documents as well as EAD at SSN office.
it does not matter how you get SSN.
even if you get SSn based on H1 only you will be fine.

I want to be a free rider and want others to pay for my cause 0 0%
I hate these immigrants and H1B workers on this website and will not contribute 0 0%
Interesting poll. I have a small suggestion, though.. If you want unbiased data, you cannot ask leading questions on any survey. For instance, if you ask "Are you a free-rider?", and you are clearly conveying what is the "right" answer.
Ask very neutral questions on the poll. Also, make it anonymous to encourage participation. Pare down questions so that they are distinct and mutually exclusive.
At least that way you'll get better data to work with for analysis.

The H1B are positioned better as they can relocate quickly. Most of USC and GC dont relocate due to housing ownership. While H1B homeownership is low.
I personally know atleast 20+ USC not willing to move to greener grounds just because they have house.
Housing did create a biased USC/GC jobseeker.

The hostile environment does not end with the new H-1B petitions. Report indicates that the H-1B workers are increasingly stranded abroad not being able to obtain the visa stamp abroad pending so-called protracted security checks and consequently not being able to return to the U.S. to resume employment. Should this environment continue, the business environment for the U.S. businesses will continuously deteriorate and the businesses will continuously suffer unless they take out their businesses and jobs abroad to meet the needed workforces in order to stay in business in increasingly competitive global economy. Nothing will be able to stop the offshore outsourcing of the U.S. businesses. This is something the Obama Administration should think about very quick before too late.

My I140 was approved in Dec 2005 by TSC. The online case status still says it pending. And i just filed my 485 using that 140.

As long as your job is in similar field, you are ok.
You can take any job as long as the duties of the new job falls under the
Job Code 15-1021.00. which is your original approved labor job code.
Any thing other than that is a straight NO.

After July 30th, you have to pay the higher fee, but you will get free AP/EADs for the entire duration until adjudication.
So, it's up to you (and whoever is paying for ur EADs).. you can decide appropriately.

From the USCIS memo posted on AILA's website (ref: http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=22912):
USCIS�s announcement today allows anyone who was eligible to apply under Visa Bulletin No. 107 a full month�s time to do so. Applications already properly filed with USCIS will also be accepted. The current fee schedule will apply to all applications filed under Visa Bulletin No. 107 through August 17, 2007. (The new fee schedule that becomes effective on July 30, 2007, will
apply to all other applications filed on or after July 30, 2007).
So I guess, the old fee will still apply even after July 30th for 485 filings.. and I guess no free EAD benefits will apply either. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

There is a clause saying that you need to be in status for last 180 days since your last entry to US. And since u are in good status for past 180 days u r good. Consult a lawyer on this as well, but I think u may eb fine

My attorney says he will tell my reciept number as soon as he has it.

I am myself also planning to use my AP for re-entry later this year, but have the H1-B approval valid till 2011, so was a little confused as to if I would be needed to renew my new I-94 if it is issued for 1 year based on AP..

go to uscis.gov and sign up for e-filing. fill in the I-131 form for urself and wife et al. u will seriously save a ton of money that can be done in 15 minutes and follow uscis instructions only.
did that 3 months ago. got an RFE about photographs not being compliant with us passport requirements. sending response as I type.

They started premium processing for I140 so that they could stop parallel filing of 140 and 485.
