RAgz4u and other core IV member,
One suggestion, does senator Kennedy know about employment based immigration issues. Have we (IV) contacted him or his office to make sure he is aware of our issue? He has been and will remain a key figure and influencer in this. Just a suggestion that we keep his office abreast of the issues.

Specter agreed this morning with Kennedy's approach, provided that these illegal immigrants would not be able to start legalization proceedings until the backlog of 3 million people now waiting in countries around the world for their chance to come to the United States legally get their green cards.
Any comments or thoughts on this is highly appreciated.

Also Mr O said out look for Eb2 india is grim and could have delay for decades .. where Eb3 india can be set to Oct 2001 in oct 2009. His whole prediction is based on current demand from USCIS.
Lets says he USCIS has 50k Eb2 india and 70k Eb3 india in back room. Now they both have 3k visas in a given year . if USCIS process ( Pre adjucted ) 40k Eb2 india cases and 4k Eb3 india and bring to DOS , DOS may think there are 10 time more cases in Eb2 india so it can take decades while Eb3 india has only 1k extra so it can be in a year. but reality is different.

Increase the Visa numbers, that's what we should be aiming for.
A one time news event is not going to solve the problem.
The July fiasco, should be used to start an all out campaign with Congress to increase the Visa numbers.

If you look carefully health insurance payments are deducted in advance from the paycheck. So if say you join the new company in February the old company's paycheck at the end of January should be deducting health insurance for February. Therefore if the new company provides health insurance from March you should still be covered without requiring COBRA.

Dont worry too much about the reds. Even I used to have a couple of greens.
But when I saw many people complaining about why IV is not pursuing piecemeal,
I explained them about the Hispanic caucus and CIR.....I started getting reds
because of that.
People often give red even for rational and logical postings here if the information is uncomfortable.

Arent you concerned that if its approved on Oct 1, and you didnt get it, then where is it? Did you ask them as to why you havent gotten it in mail even though it has been approved a month ago? Also, did you check with your lawyer if he got anything?
It was approved on 10/1*/2007 not exactly on 10/1/2007. I was concerned and I asked her. What she told me is that once case is approved it generally takes around one week to get that mail out from mailroom and once it is out of mail room then generally it takes 2 weeks to get the mail for you. So calculating that I thought I should get that within a day or two. ANd another thing she told me is that once mail is out from USCIS mailroom then USCIS does not have any control or tracking mechanism so I do not have any choice other than waiting for mail...And yes I have just shooted an email to my lawyer. Go read the posts on the other website, and you will see how important it was to counter this guy's posts that were raising basic doubts about IV.
To have prompt responses is extremely important! If you brush aside negative comments from 'male buffalos' and not counter them - we will never be able to get them into action!
Anyway, however clumsy my efforts, I could not just sit and watch & not try to get doubts addressed.

1) My screen name has nothing to do with the argument here. If we discuss my screen name we are going on a tangent which is very typical of desis (I rememeber womanly taunts in movies and woman gossip where they would pick anything but would niether make a point nor a valid argument)

2) Hopefull signifies optimism. A pessimist is an optimist who is very analytical or knows better. Your argument is similar to "And they lived happily ever after ...(after singing around green trees) ...." ignoring the ground reality, facts that no dent has been made and also turninga blind eye to the fact that there are people since 2001/2002 stuck. Its 2007 meaning five years and if the Dept is not willing to budge after all these efforts to a number more than 7000, and you still are HOPEFULL ignoring the facts means that you are an idiot. Yes you will get your GC before you die for sure provided you live upto the age of appx 70 and your consulting firm is around and you are not tired of the bickering with your employer.

I think for few people this might be bad news. Some people changed their job without I-140 being approved. Sorry guys...i used AC21 but i have approved I-140.

Urgency of getting a receipt is that once you get the receipt, it means that USCIS has 'accepted' your application and it will not be rejected for lack of initial evidence.
You can track it by checking your bank account too. You checks will be cashed first before you get the receipt.

This guy with absolutely clean record was held for 11 weeks for verification and lost his father in this process..
I have been trying for last 8 weeks non-stop in front of computer and I am not able to even see any open appointment...
WE REALLY NEED TO RAISE HELL ON THIS...
SENDING LETTERS TO CLINTON or may be IV rep team to meet her on this issue...
A lot of guys are stuck and have suffered for no reason...
Can you bring your friend here. If we can add stories from people who suffered, it would add more value.
