My friend has 2 I-140s one EB3 (PD Dec 2002) and second one EB2 (PD Nov 2006) - what is the best option for him.
Whether he can use earlier PD for EB2 (I-485).

We had a similar problem during Dec 06 - Our bill came around 400 ...We reside in NJ...
We were surprised because we spent almost 20 days in Florida.
when we called our provider there wasn't much help ,they never accepted that it was a fault.
I immediately took a picture of my reading from the meter ,and gave copies to them and old bills of the last two years winter.
Then thet agreed not to charge for three months.
So check your meter...and previous bills usage ...for comparison...
But where were you at a stretch all those months??

I filled on July 11th no receipt, no check cashed. My lawyer told me, that my lawyer has 50 more candidates waiting to get receipts in month of July.

I think they have started Receipting Delays at NSC. By the way, did you have any RFE on your I-485 in Aug/Sept. 08.
Nope, i did not receive any RFE's so far.However, there has been a soft LUD on our I185 cases on 9/17.

Don't get discouraged, Lee. Sensor dust is part of the game, and we all have to deal with it.
If you haven't read about it yet, the generally accepted way to "see" the dust is to take a shot of a non-textured light object (I use the ceiling, or a clear sky). Put it in manual, set to a low iso, stop the aperture down to f/16 or even more, adjust ss for proper exposure (may be several seconds, but no problem if you are shooting a texture-less target.) Then you can zoom way in on the image and scout around to see the crud. This is a good way to check after you clean to see if you really got it all.
When cleaning, always try the least intrusive method first. I try the blower several times first. If there is still stuff left, I go in with the arctic butterfly. If there is still junk in the same spot after several passes, it is likely stuck there and I go after it with the lens pen. If it is not in the same spot, it is not stuck, so I keep after it with the brush followed by the blower.

Person traveling with AP does not require Transit Visa if u dont plan to go outside of Frankfurt airport for what so reason.I had traveled via Frankfurt on 01/07/09.

During my 2nd H1B stamping, I also faced the same situation in New Delhi consulate. I got 221g and the visa officer told me that my application need some adminstrative approval from DC and it will take 3-4 weeks. Those 4 weeks were painful. My whole vacation was runied. Anyway after 4 weeks I got a call from the Embassy and got stamped next day.
But one of friend faced the same problem in New Delhi last year. For him, it took 6 months to get the name check done....So be prepared man...I am so sorry that you have to go through this...I can feel the pain...Now I am really scared to go for my next stamping as my visa has expired and I missed the July bus ....so I do not habe AP...:(((

I am sure this question must have been answered before, but as i could not find anything with reference to it, so i thought of posting it here.
I just received a copy of the labor from my company. Is there a way to find out, whether the labor was cleared for EB-2 or not.
I am novice in this area.
If there are any other ways to find out, can anyone shed some light on it.

SA 2428. Mr. CORNYN submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill H.R. 2638, making appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2008, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:
At the appropriate place, insert the following:
SEC. __. EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISAS.
(a) Recapture of Unused Employment-Based Immigrant Visas.--Section 106(d) of the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-first Century Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-313; 8 U.S.C. 1153 note) is amended--
(1) in paragraph (1)--
(A) by inserting ``1994, 1996, 1997, 1998,'' after ``available in fiscal year'';

4 months from now, there will be another rush for applications for EADs and people will be spending money for it. Everyone will be back on the forums talking about notices and late processing for these applications. Lot of people will have heartburns and their jobs can be in trouble if their EADs do not arrive on time.
We do not seem to look at the bleak picture ahead in future and are worrying about EADS, AP and notices now. The real problem is retrogression and not if TSC is slower than NSC or vice versa or receipt notices. (You will be surprised that people write to us telling us to focus lobbying efforts on making TSC faster than NSC since that is a big problem faced by millions of people)
The end result of this constant renewals of EAD and AP is heartache, frustration and loss of money for us. We ultimately lose if we do not wake up now and do something.
Unless this community is ready to raise its voice, nothing WILL be done for us in the near future.
Please dont forget to apply for AP renewal, as if you have to travel, without an AP u will be struck.
So, make sure EAD & AP Renewals are filed close to each other to be on a safer side.

This is an important step zero. I am sure Reid will push this through in the Senate.
But in this congress it's all about what the House does.. Need to see the House version of this bill..
CIR (aka mass amnesty) was not doable in the past, and is not now and wont be in future. They could not do it even when democratic party was in power in congress (high tide of democratic party). It is impossible now with GOP in control.

My employer refuses to give my copy of approve LC.
I had MS + 1.5 yrs of exp.
So not sure if they had exp in the job description as I dont see any job that requires MS + 1 yr of exp.

At least, get a letter from your employer stating they won't revoke your I-140. If they agree to do so, then file a G-28 appointing a new attorney of your choice; however, if you are happy with your current one and find them affordable, let them know and ensure they will handle your case independent of your employer.

Go to rite-aid & they are really cheap if you are looking to save some money.I went to Kinkos & the lady said it would cost around $65 for me & my wife ( 8 copies each ) , Now she herself suggested that I should save some money & try some other place like CVS, or Rite-Aid
