I sent my EAD extension documents on 7/9 via FedEx to Nebraska. They recvd it on 7/11 morning and got signature proof. Can you please let me know how many days it take for the check to be encashed? This will be helpful. Thanks!!

I’ve successfully e-filed my renewal and got the approval for both EAD and AP in just two weeks. It’s really a good system.
My case is little different though – When I entered US this time, I had H1 approval but not the stamping in my passport (didn’t want to go through the stamping hassle), so I used my AP at the port of entry.
When I renewed my EAD and AP online, I mentioned, “I entered using AP” and my current status is “H1”. There were no queries, and got the approval.

Planning to apply GC in 2008 jan or sometime will it be fine. that time my H1 completes 4 yrs. How long will it take labour? will it be over by 2010?
once i file labour and if not cleared by 2010(h1 completes 6 yrs). i must go back india? right?
no other solution for this?

I applied for 11th year H1B extension in June 2009 @ Vermont center and now I got an RFE which asks us to submit the end client letter with details likes the duration of the project, name of the supervisor, if vendor is involved then vendor details. I've been with the same employer (desi consulting firm) for last 7 years and with the same client for last 6 years. I dont know what will happen but I am doing everything I can and prepared for worst case scenario.
Same exact case. Just give as much detailed info as you can. Do not leave any room for any ambiguity that would confuse USCIS. Remember it is only high school level staff that is accessing your case. So they don't go by logic. Dum it down to their level. Worst case according to my lawyer is that they may give a restrictive judgement for only for the period of contract or come up with an additional RFE with more details on the additional vendor.
Please make sure your response is as comprehensive as possible. I just went through this and am waiting for a reply.
In any case, it is always good to be prepared for the worst case scenario. Just remember that we are very qualified and smart professionals and will continue to make progress no matter where we go

I did not see any updates on my I140 but just the update on my already approved H1b case.
If my employer has decided to revoke my I140, would i be able to find out , incase he doesn't inform me?

For my final H1B extension, I used Chugh law firm and my employer did premium processing with them. Got my 3 yr extn in 2 days!!! Not sure if its the law firm or just my case.But they were prompt in paperwork and my interaction with them was only twice. Just honor their checklist and u r done.
However, for GC, I used Mr. Michael Khosla's (The Law Offices of P. Michael Khosla & Associates, P.C. www.usimmigration.net (http://www.usimmigration.net)) services. Reasonable fee and awesome service. Never had any issues and got my GC in 2010

I applied for my H-1 extension in mid April and my current H-1 is valid till mid August. After reading about the waiting times in the posts above I am wondering what happens if I don't get the approval until mid August. Will I be out of status ?

Should we start active compaign for HR 5882. I think still we are in same year and we have at end of Committee. Senate has also same version of bill..
Core : Please update if thinking to start campaign for this one. Lots of economist also suggesting to give gc to legal immigrants so they can buy house.
Please post yout thoughts.

Here's another parallel Idea.
Let us try to schedule a meet with the prospective presidential Candidates (McCain, Clinton and Obama) instead to let them know our issues.
By the time we actually get a meeting with the current president, his term may have expired. The presidential candidates, on the other hand will have some time now (not a whole lot but a little). If we squeeze some time there, we may be able to atleast get our issues out there.
we can do this to get the Dems attention to our problems...right now Obama and Clinton are campaining in PA..so the IV members who are from PA can try to meet them and explain our problems.. when they are out there for campaining..

Indian employer sent experience letter only after I officially resigned. That experience letter shows as an employee including our stay here in H4. We can't change the letter. This is happened to many of my friend's spouses. No question asked. If this is not the case no one will get the H1B approval.

Last time there was a recession (2001/2002), INS denied a lot of employment based immigrant petitions because they asked companies why they could not hire American programmers who were laid off. This happened people I personally know from reputed companies such as Sun Microsystems. I don't mean to sound negative, but do you think this will happen again? After being in the queue for so many years, the possibility is real.
They can't deny anyone who has filed I-485 because you have already crossed labor + I-140. Yes, they will ask for latest financial report for ability of pay etc. I do know that lot of company stopped processing of GC during that time.
Why the hell they don't stop H1bs rather than targetting people who already filed GC.

this category is to deal with starting and doing business in USA... no place in the first place to cry and vent depression of your brain and your friends brains... though annoyed with it, i respect your post and respectfully ask you to take it elsewhere... i wont respond to flame from you...

Please reach out to your friends in times of difficulty....the world is not going to end if you don't have a job OR if you there are delays in getting your GC..the world is a wonderful place and still full of opportunity - to add value, to help others etc...you may need to reach out to your friends for help to find your calling or the next opportunity....please don't be desperate....and please ask for help. we all have so many things to be happy and thankful for...
