I ran some technical inquiries past OWC and found them helpful. It is a pity they don't have a store in the UK. Unless I am wrong on this and I don't know about the Mini, Samsung (and possibly Hynix) seem to be the only wholly reliable brand at 16GB in the 2010 iMac, which further cements my generally good view of Samsung. I will probably have to order from OWC and absorb the shipping/customs.

It would have been nice to put OS X on my fairly new 1.3 AMD, or even the 1.6 P4 at work (if nothing else than to save the TORTURE that was my Win98/2000 install from HELL, freakin' M$. Now I can Crash twice as fast!). But we know that won't be happening anytime soon.
Can't wait to get a new Mac to replace my old one (that I no longer have BTW) after I move. Maybe a nice Cool (pun intended) iBook (c'mon 1 GHz G3 + 32 MB vid card), or an eMac to play with untill I can afford a new Tower. Who knows what we'll have by then?

I mean, yeah, but it's not worth worrying about. Maybe if you reformat 10 times a day...but how many times are you really going to do it...
You could argue that opening and closing your Macintosh HD could create more wear and tear on the HD than letting it sit.
On the iMac, you can replace the HD though, so if worst comes to worst, and it's out of warranty, you can just but a new one.

I did but sorta regret it ... it's not SO unstable that it's unusable, but some features such as no Rosetta and the few bugs that make it annoying to use, do make me regret upgrading. Thankfully updates are coming regularly so things are only improving, and I dual-boot into W7 whenever something needs to get done bug-free.

From the quotes in the article, it sounds more like the Samsung spokesperson was answering a direct question. At the very least, there's nothing in the quoted text to suggest anyone "throwing down the gauntlet". I suggest that incorrect metaphors are saved for sports coverage from now on. ...my guess is that 604e at the very highest reasonable level is at 15,000, and G3 at 20,000 but i would assume much lower for those levels and maybe G4 is at 20,000
...and G5 at 50,000 or 100,000 since it would be no fun for someone to reach that and have nothing to loook forward to
it could be that G5 is set at a million to make it unattainable:p
note: maybe arn has not decided yet what to give people beyond a 601 and there is no set level for the next level

It is a crappy idea, its stupid and just an annoyance to a company, besides that your a liar, you apparantly own an iPad then you dont? so what is it? you own one or your going to buy a refurb?
I dont trust you, so anything you post is crap to me.
And I cant afford a free iPad? that doesnt even make sense! go back to school. I actually paid for my iPad and all the other things I own while I do a job aswell as go to university which is a 2 hour ride there and another 2 hours back.

I have an original iPad which is jail broken and has displayout installed. I picked up the new HDMI adapter from the Apple store and every app mirrors perfectly except for Netflix. With Netflix I get a red Netflix screen on my TV, however, the video only plays on the iPad.
All other applications including Air Video, ABC player, and Videos installed through iTunes play on both screens.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This does look like iOS4 is turning into Apple's Vista. I've begun noticing odd quirks with my iPhone 4. Frequently, the screen refuses to shift into landscape or portrait mode when I turn it. The only thing that seems to fix the problem is a re-boot of the phone. Reception is still wonky. In the exact same location it will shift from 5 bars of 3G to 1 bar of EDGE, then 1 bar of 3G and then to 3 bars of EDGE. I've had several bizarre syncing problems when either iTunes or iPhoto reported simply, "An error has occurred."
When it works, it's great. But it certainly has been more finicky than my old 3G, which was rock-solid.

I went to the website and checked as far down as iTunes 10.2 but they are all listed as being for Windows. Any for the Mac?

Based on reviews, specifications, and recommendations, I think I'm gonna go with the Crucial C300 256GB. It's $474 from Amazon, has decent reviews on there and around the web (that I've seen), and looks like it'll do the job great.
I'm not going to place my order quite yet though - try and talk me out of it! Haha.
...I went with the crucial m225 series since it still had a 5 year warranty... if something happens to it I know crucial stands behind their products and maybe I'll get the latest, greatest at the time as a "plus"!
Its in my whitebook and working fine as I notice no slowdown (been in a year or so)...
I'm not going to place my order quite yet though - try and talk me out of it! Haha.
