How was the 'room buzz'? I have seen the vid of the presentation and it looked like a good time was had by all.It was my first SuperMeet so the buzz was strong :)
I got to meet a few vendors that I was interested in too.
The folks that put this together gets my thumbs up.
They did a great job and kept all of us in high spirits.
The demo was amazing since I feel the new timeline is ground breaking.
Ive been using FCP since v1 and go as far back as Premiere 2.0 and not Premiere Pro either :)
I welcome this new way of working and hoping Adobe/Avid adopts this for After Effects, Premiere and MC.

Seems to have come from Japan. Theories abound as to why; nobody seems to know for sure. These possibilities are from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_sign#Japan_and_the_V_sign):
Japan and the V sign in photographs
One account of the V sign's use in portrait photographs claims that during the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Hokkaidō, American figure skater Janet Lynn stumbled into Japanese pop culture when she fell during a free-skate period, but continued to smile even as she sat on the ice. Though she placed only third in the actual competition, her cheerful diligence and indefatigability resonated with many Japanese viewers, making her an overnight celebrity in Japan. Afterward, Lynn (a peace activist) was repeatedly seen flashing the V sign in the Japanese media. Though the V sign was known of in Japan prior to Lynn's use of it there (from the post-World War II Allied occupation of Japan), she is credited by some Japanese for having popularized its use in amateur photographs. According to another theory, the V sign was popularized by the actor and singer Jun Inoue, who showed it in a Konica photo camera commercial in 1972.

Sandy Bridge CPUs officially support only 1333MHz but 1600MHz has been proven to work (not with iMacs yet though).
The HD uses SATA 3Gb/s, that is why the negotiated speed is 3Gb/s.
I've been out of the loop... I was running DDR3 1600 on a Core i7 920 seems like years ago. That official support was 1066 I think.

I just did some limited file movement to confirm it would still recognize the drive without formatting it for the enclosure. I think it is safe to say that it would run slow as molasses over USB versus internal.
I'm curious to see how a TB external with non-ssd drives connected to a MBP run versus internal drives on a MP...got my fingers crossed and hope the drives are the limiting factor.

I was wondering if any one would know how to get a hold of any of these OS install discs? I have not been able to find any physical discs but what about .iso files? This isn't too important but I have been playing around with some of the old operating systems and these are ones I have never seen. Any information would be helpful, no matter how small.
Thanks in advance
These OSes are Floppy Only, so the images wouldnt be .iso files. SOS is probably the hardest to find as the Apple /// was a pretty massive failiure compared to the Apple ][... I think these images would be hard to find as it would take a hellva lot of effort to get them onto a modern enough machine - their ancient floppy formats... one of the best bets youd have is to get an Apple][ with AppleDOS included.

Hey everyone,
Getting very excited about launch day tomorrow! Anyone planning on lining up at the Apple Store in Boca Raton Town Center Mall. If so, can you please post with your time of planned arrival?

My girlfriends computer crashed so she lost all her music but luckily it is all still on her old iPod Video 30gb (not sure what generation it is, it is the first one that plays videos)..
Anyway, when i try to take the music off her iPod, it auto ejects. I have tried 3 different methods:
I tried using a tool called iPod Access: it auto ejected
I tried using a tool called expod: it auto ejected
I tried unhiding the music folders on it and just copying those over: it auto ejected.
The ipod itself works fine. No problems at all. I just cannot, for the life of me, find out what is happening..
Can anybody at all help me?
*Edit: i forgot to mention that i am using a mac (specs in sig)

Yeah, I did that, and it had already been unchecked. They're still not working even with that unchecked.

Lion may be sold in Mac App Store and so far we observed that Apple sells its softwares cheaper on MAS (such as Aperture, $79 on App Store but $199 on stores and Apple Remote Desktop again $79 on app store but $499 on stores (I don't know if they are exact same versions but App Store says it is unlimited edition) - huge gaps)
We don't and can't know if it will be cheaper to buy snow leopard first, but I don't think so :) (yeah, I know this is a contradiction to my first paragraph but I read so much articles like that in last 2-3 days :D)

Well I'm not 100 % sure it "blew up". I looked inside the power supply through the small circle holes and on both the supplies it looked as if it got hot enough that grey plastic melted and got all over the internal parts.
Thanks for your replies guys.

Hey all,
I'm looking to possibly invest in a secondary monitor to go along with my 15" MBP. I was given a $100 Best Buy gift card, so I'd kinda like to use that. I probably don't want to go over $150-$175. I'd love to go LED backlit, but that's really expensive. Anyone have a preference in which brand has the best image quality? (Thinking LG, Samsung, etc) again; I can't spend a ton, but I'd really like to get a decent size with decent image quality if possible. I'll be using it for Photoshop, Final Cut, photo editing, and many other things...
Thanks in advance!

or try www.the-gadgeteer.com
you might have to search a little (or simply scroll through the review index), and it might work best if you're narrowed it down to a few options and want to compare them.
good luck!

Just hazarding a guess here... Is it under the GUID partition table?
Pretty sure it is but no options available to change it.

Hi
I was just over at macuser.co.uk and was reading about a new CPU being designed at "Sharp". It seem's that the CPU is made out of glass.
Sound good but just dont drop the computer. arrrrrrr right.

Isn't the L shaped strip just covering the RAM? is the HD accessible directly below the battery, though I haven't upgraded the HD in my Macbook...
No, the L shaped strip covers the RAM bays (behind the long section) and HDD bay (behind the short section) as can be seen in this extract from Apple's guide,

The classic software dilemma: Do it for free but spend some time learning; or pay a few bucks for ease of use.
I'd suggest googling some more. You should find a good rsync tutorial that can walk you through the various options.
